• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    I have a few i questions.

Get an older iPod touch. I have a 3rd Gen I bought for less than $50. It is permanently mounted in the trunk of the bike with some velcro. Set it up to your homes wireless internet and if your bike is parked within range you should never have to touch it. You can load music and podcasts to...

    Camera Advice

We own a GoPro and have mounts on the bike for it. We love it and use it on all trips. One of the plus sides to bike mounting is the options for camera position. I can shoot video of the forward road trip and then switch to show video of the rider and passenger, I also have a swivel mount...

    Lets talk about rider fatigue.

Every little bit of advise so far has been a treat. One thing we have done this summer is adjust our riding gear. For summer riding we switched to half helmets. The weight difference was noticeable and helped with some of the neck pain. I imagine riding posture and stretching will...

Very limited storage, no towing capacity and difficult to enter and exit the vehicle.

    Lets talk about rider fatigue.

It's my first full summer with a Spyder and we are really enjoying touring. We tend to do 2 and 3 day weekend trips of 300-500 miles and avoid highway travel. On a 3 day trip I would rate the comfort level of day 1 as a 10, day 2 as a 7, day 3 as a 4-5. The longest 1 day ride we have done...

    2014 RT

We own the Show Chrome arm rests. They are not height adjustable but we verified the height would work before purchase, and it would seem to be the same as other brands in regards to height. Almost level with the rear speakers. They attach under the seat. 30 min. installation. They swing for...

    2015 Spyder RT-S SE6 vs. RT Limited SE6

That's what negotiations are for. I also went with just the RT, but I negotiated the A/C package and a trailer hitch into the purchase. Ultimately they wanted to sell a Spyder so they agreed with me and I saved a lot of money.

2014 RT-S BRP trailer wiring advice/ or part number needed

I purchased the Hopkins Manufacturing 4 Pole Square Set. It cost me around $4 for both the male and female connectors. I used a wire tester and the wire diagram to convert my trailer. I suppose you could do the same in reverse for the bike. It took me less than an hour to re-wire everything.

    Squeaky Sound

I listed 2 things for the dealer/service to check and fix when I had my 3000 service done. 1) Rubbing sound when warm 2) Squeaky brakes right side of the Spyder that get worse as they warm up. I was really surprised when they told me they cleaned the brakes and that squeaky brakes were just "a...

USING THE ECO MODE 1330 Engine

I've had "eco mode" turned on since my first week owning the bike. My riding style has been erratic, meaning I push it when I need to. Mostly 2 up for long trips, 1 up for weekday rides to work. On 2 up trips we pull a trailer which when packed can be 280-300 lbs. Below is a graph showing...

    Air Hawk Seat

Will the Air Hawk add any additional height to the passenger? The wife has commented on how she has to lean to see around me so I was thinking of this not only for comfort but also as an added height boost. Thanks.

Any tips for taming the 'Dragon'?

We just did "Ohio's Tail of the Dragon", Ohio SR 555 ("the Triple Nickel") 2 up on an RT SE6. This is where the semi auto transmission came in real handy. The "lean" was critical to my comfort. Looking ahead to where my end point was in the turns. Expecting the unexpected. Plenty of...

    This weekends route

Another amazing journey. Well we made it. It was a challenging and incredibly fulfilling ride this weekend. SR 555 (aka. The Triple Nickel) is not for the faint of heart. We stopped to fill up at a corner gas station before motoring on to 555 and it was everything they talk about. Speed...

    This weekends route

By suggestion we are heading down Rt 555 to Little Hocking and the scenic byway, spending the night in Parkersburg then traveling along Muskingum River north to historic Rt 40 and home again. Anyone have a a suggestion for a good hometown meal in Parkersburg?

    BIG 'E'

It has happened to me once also when I was accelerating quickly to avoid traffic. It was definitely hi-revs and quicker than normal attempt at shifting. I had always assumed it was just the computer telling me I was being a bad boy. I haven't seen it since that one occurrence.
