• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Meet, ride, & eat, Saturday August 27 in Hickory

Thanks Anita - you're too kind. Methinks that we could do the Devil's Staircase to Double Island to BRP (Parkway, not Canada) to Diamondback to Lake James loop. We could probably all meet in Hickory or at that little breakfast place off of I40 in Morganton. After breakfast, we could move on to...

Meet, ride, & eat, Saturday August 27 in Hickory

Thanks for putting this together Anita. I've got a great route in mind - mountains, curves, scenery, etc. - leave out early to beat the heat and the traffic - nothing like having a beautiful mountain road all to yourself, but we can definitely move the time for those coming from places far away...

    Brake Failure

Thanks gentlemen. Unfortunately, the failure indication didn't go off when I was back on flat ground and didn't go off after powering down and restarting. I will try to squeeze a little more fluid in the reservoirs and see if that does the trick. Much obliged.

    Brake Failure

Brake Failure light came on while conquering some of the mountain roads here in NC this past Saturday. Fluid level is fine and I have adequate braking. Also, no noises. I have almost 16k on Charlotte ('08 GS) and this is the first indication like this that I have had. Brake sensor maybe? Anyone...

    Some Spyders on the Snake

Haha. Thanks Bruiser. I look forward to meeting you.

    Some Spyders on the Snake

Thanks. Helmet cam facing backwards - neck shock absorber is second to none. Moving the head a lot to look at the scenery can be a little dangerous on the snake. Hindsight is always 20 / 20, but Catniption should have probably been right behind me on her pink spyder - she rides well! Everyone...

Some video of SpyderDuck, Catniption and her husband Sam, my brother and me riding the Snake (421 North from Mountain City to Shady Valley, Tn) today.

    Saturday, June 11th

Time to get lost again. The plan is to leave Hickory around 7'ish and take 321 North up to 421 in Boone (would like to leave this early to beat the heat but could be talked into a little later). From 421, the plan is to take 194 to a road with a good reputation - 3 Top Road. From there, there...

I got lost in NC mountains

Thanks for all of the positive comments. Here's vid from the same day of another really fun road - Hickory Nut Gap Road. Please bear with the few seconds that I was behind the cager. For the most part, I had these roads to myself all day. You can see a lot of Christmas tree farming in this area...

    Day tripper

I agree. There are 1%ers in every group. Actually, I enjoy seeing a skilled (and sensible) crotch rocketeer ride more than a biker from any other group.

I got lost in NC mountains

Well, not really, but I rode a lot of roads that I had never been on before this past Saturday. This is video from one of the best - Beech Mountain Road near Banner Elk. Note the pit bull that came after me in the first few seconds of the vid - that gave me a good shot of adrenaline...

    Day tripper

Some of the crotch rockets give me a lot of entertainment in the evenings when I leave work in Charlotte. I-85 is a free circus!

Where are all of the NC ryders

Ryding the roads around Marion again. Vickie and I did about 220 miles today - road highway 80, double island and the diamondback. We were on the Parkway for about 15 miles. Hope that you had a good one! Hope that you and Jimmy are having a good time - tell Jimmy that we said hey. I know that...

Volunteer needed for prototype RS exhaust

We put Schultzi's exhaust on my '08 GS on Saturday. Rode back from Greer, SC to Hickory, NC at some pretty "nice" speeds. I had an old guy on a Harley come up beside me before I got on I-85 and say "hey, that thing sounds good" and he gave me the thumbs up. All that I have to say is that the...
