• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

An update on Lamont - Jan '22 update post #139

Lamont was released from the hospital this afternoon ...little more than 4 days after liver transplant surgery. A true miracle in my book! From death's door in 2018 when the liver cancer was discovered, to a transplant and a whole new life ahead. Power of prayer, Lamont's own resolve to...

Sad news - Teddy & Cyncy Spyder

Just an FYI, for all that grieve like I did at the loss of Dave's precious Teddy. Fate stepped in just weeks after (maybe even days) after Teddy passed ... in the form of another Pomeranian that someone could not handle / keep. The pup is 4 months old, original name of "Teddy Bear" and Dave...

    uncomfortable in corners

Were you in group 1 during the Flat Creek ride ... with Claude in the lead? If so, yes, he really does like to push it through the curves ... I managed to stick with him through most of it on the way back from Flat Creek (Claude on his F3 and me on my RT -- with sway bar and Elka shocks). I...

Maintenance 2015 Spyder RT, 19000 miles

Isn't that a "cumulative" service where everything from the 9,300 and 3,000 service is also added in? If so, it should be much more than you list .... but, I am not sure about the cost. All the best .... Ann

How to Fix Hyperflash in Directional Signals??

Lamont has a video ... here's a link (it's more than just holding the flasher button down; you also have to reprogram the flash). http://www.lamonstergarage.com/news/resetting-hyper-flash-after-adding-led-lighting/ All the best ... Ann

    Where's Doc?

Doc may be simply taking a break ... from all social media and from his business. Recall, one of the things that he and Kathy (RIP) used to do was a Holiday Santa and Mrs. Clause -- so, this is a particularly rough time of year for Doc and it is only the second without Kathy. I have reached...

    Dream Catcher's New Installs

I am not the pioneer on this one …. James Thorne did it long before I did (I even asked several questions of him before proceeding with my own install). The antenna coax and ground are routed out the front / bottom of the trunk (using a similar path as the radio does on the other side of the...

Parking brake actuator failure/does BEST warranty cover?

You can do the 12mm wrench thing while you wait for the dealer to obtain the parts -- this is what I did when mine started getting "sticky." Once the parts are in, schedule an appointment for them to replace the parking brake motor … it's about a 30 to 60 minute job. Good luck …. Ann

    Dream Catcher's New Installs

I don't know why I didn't take pics of this before ... this is a J&M trunk mount CB kit for a Harley Davidson. J&M was kind enough to build the kit with a one foot mast instead of the usual two foot of the standard kit. I did add some rubber fender washers to the bottom bolt to put the antenna...

    Dream Catcher's New Installs

Nicely done on the Victory ... note that this was done on a 2018 F3L. I have two Spyders, a 2016 RT Ltd (Jubiliee) and a 2018 F3 Ltd (Dream Catcher). Hoping that hogcowboy will, someday, pick up the F3 as it is getting more difficult for him to ride the Indian (MC accident in 2012 trashed his...

    Dream Catcher's New Installs

Thank you for the heads up on that .... I rarely use auto shutoff because our tanks at home (with a ranch we have "real gas" delivered) don't have an auto shutoff capability. So, I just use my ears and make sure I have the nozzle inserted correctly to avoid that little splash out when removing...

    Dream Catcher's New Installs

CB and Mic Plug Mounts The CB itself is mounted with the following: Lamont's Top Cap, using the "mirror mount" hole. The bracket is from J&M and for a Yamaha (was the only flat bracket that allowed the correct orientation); part JCB03-HBK03 I used a 3/4" barrel spacer to raise the CB up just...

    Dream Catcher's New Installs

Originally posted on FB …. but, I know that there are many here that never go there. Sooo …. mighty proud of the following::D:D It is done and put back together (no more Spyder porn)! It only took me five days, with help from LR Smith (aka hogcowboy).... someone with more experience could do...

Motorcycle accidents - Why we're not always seen

As the survivor of a head on collision on two wheels in 1993, I can assure you that eye contact with the driver does NOT mean they see you. :yikes: I was VERY lucky, the collision was slow speed, she was stopped and I was slowing down because I suspected she was going to turn in front of me --...

    Bike will not start

Have your dealer, or you do it yourself, pull a recall report on your VIN. I suggest this because delivery of my 2018 F3 Ltd was delayed a couple of days because of a known problem with limited number of machines that had bad alternators that had ruined the battery (not sure of all the...

Relocate USB Connector from Glovebox to Handlebar -- 2018 F3 Ltd

I know that a few have done this relocation on a pre-2018 F3 -- but those models didn't have the digital dash, or BRP connect. I am looking to relocate the "BRP connect enabled" USB port from the glovebox (below the windshield) and to the handlebar (probably right side). It looks like I have...

My Time at Spyders in the Ozarks -- 2019

Do it! This is truly a riding event and one that you can make "your own" .. you don't have to do the group rides (didn't the first day or second day). I have no doubt I will be back next year. All the best …Ann

My Time at Spyders in the Ozarks -- 2019

Some photos, and a summary, of my recent trip to Springfield, MO for Spyders in the Ozarks. Amazingly, I was too immersed in the event to take any photos of my own (even though I had my phone with me) … will give credit where I can, if I remember where I got them. Amazing trip! Larry (my better...
