• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The CB Saga Continues -- Seriously, NOT FIXED YET!

Yes, I know the original problem is with the Antenna and it has been replaced (under warranty) by J&M … it is tuned and we have checked it with our SWR meter, so THAT issue is resolved. With the J&M antenna upgrade, the mount is now all metal and it is properly grounded as well. The CB stopped...

The CB Saga Continues -- Seriously, NOT FIXED YET!

Steve … interesting thoughts on grounding, and I will definitely, discuss with BRP. The ground that was left loose when the compressor was replaced is, no doubt, what caused that CB to get toasted … little did we know that they had also damaged the antenna so the CB was effectively used without...

The CB Saga Continues -- Seriously, NOT FIXED YET!

Thanks for the reply Easy Rider … note that the CB in my 2012 RT and the 3rd unit installed in the 2016 RT worked flawlessly. I never had any trouble with the one in the 2012 and the whole thing went south on the 2016 when the compressor was replaced and a ground strap left loose -- lord knows...

The CB Saga Continues -- Seriously, NOT FIXED YET!

Update -- Waiting for Additional Owner Test Okay … Here's the latest update. Have talked with the tech guy at BRP this past week and before taking the RT back down to Weatherford, TX he wants one more test done. Pull both F5 (load shedding for horn, compressor, and heated grips) and the...

    SpyderCodes

Did I miss something, Roger? Have your efforts to produce SpyderCodesPro run into difficulties? I still have my original download of SpyderCodes and I presume it is up to date on my iPhone. Was eagerly awaiting SpyderCodesPro and am willing to pay for it as well. Now that I actually have a...

BRP Garmin Zumo GPS Holder for F3 models

One of the customer accessory spots is a good option if you only want it hot when the engine is running. If you would prefer to have a "switched hot" (on when the key is on), then the F3 has an unused pluggable port on the left side under the back cover -- interestingly enough, it is called...

The CB Saga Continues -- Seriously, NOT FIXED YET!

Remember this thread? https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?107345-CB-Trouble-AGAIN-VENT-and-Dealer-BLACK-EYE Well ….. two additional dealers later and multiple parts replaced … AND IT IS STILL NOT FIXED! nojoke Briefly: Dealer number one (Freedom Powersports in Decatur, TX) --...

BRP Garmin Zumo GPS Holder for F3 models

Be careful with the Garmin half of the mount …. each of the Garmin devices has a unique cradle and they DO NOT interchange between the devices. So, make sure you are picking a cradle that is compatible with the 660 (a 590 cradle is not). Cannot tell from your post if you are looking at the...

    Local m/c rider killed

Yep … kept me out of the wind for nearly 20 years. She turned left, I had no time to react and hit dead center head on …. my custom built BMW K75 LT was totaled and I walked away. That was 1993 and I didn't ride again until I bought a Spyder in 2012. Prayers for the family of this poor soul...

    Alaskan Earthquake...

Oh yeah …. 7.0 will get your attention. Grew up less that 1 mile from the San Andreas fault in California and was living in Hollister when the Loma Prieta quake hit (October 1989). 15 seconds of shaking at 7.1 and we were at least 40 miles from the epicenter -- the only quake I have been in...

Garmin Zumo 590 LM vs 595LM

Yes … the 590 and 595 use the same cradle; so you should be good to go. Just curious, did you have anything like a Cradle Lock installed? All the best …. Ann

    Help -- Stuck Passsenger Seat

Thanks, Joe …. I did remove the bezel and can see the cable is connected. Then I felt around to see if it moved at all when I turned the key, it did not. See above for what worked …. locking the bars and then unlocking them must have freed up whatever was stuck. BTW, I need a "wedgie" -- how...

    Help -- Stuck Passsenger Seat

:yes::yes: Woo Hoo! It's not stuck anymore! Having had some negative experience with swapped cables damaging the key switch on my RT, I thought, "oh great, I probably can't lock the handlebars now!" So, I just went out and tried it -- they locked without any problem. After I unlocked...

    Spyder & Headset

I have it on good authority that the next dash update WILL route the all audio through a paired headset -- if you select to do so. Working from memory, but I believe there is a configuration somewhere that says either "audio to headset" or "speakers off" (or something like that); this is...

What was wrong with the way it was?

Re "trouble with no benefit" …. well, maybe. Until you consider what could have happened if the SW upgrades were not done …. so the benefit is that we still have Spyderlovers (changed though it may be). All the best …. Ann

What was wrong with the way it was?

If I understand the other post …. it is pretty simple and involves editing the picture (without actually making any real changes to it). For example: Let's say I take a picture with my phone and it is "landscape" with the photo button on the right. I think the picture is fine, but when I...

What was wrong with the way it was?

Please keep in mind that AnthonyG (the server admin) and not Lamonster (the content admin and board owner) is responsible for the changes. He really had no choice in doing this upgrade as one of the underlying pieces of code (PHP, I think) was running an older version that is going EOL (End of...

What's needed to install this F3L CUSTOMER ACESSORY CABLE?

Several of the videos actually show Lamont either pulling, or cutting, these waxy plastic covers off. On my F3L, one pulled off fairly easy, the other I had to cut (right at the base of the waxy plastic cover). Good luck with your install …. Ann

    Mark Forums Read

Keep in mind, AnthonyG really had no choice but to upgrade the SW that drives this forum because and underlying software version is going EOL next month. Had he not taken this action, Spyderlovers could have been at risk of also going EOL and bringing it back to life would have been MUCH more...
