• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Questions About CB on an F3

I am toying with the idea of getting an F3 Limited that either my hubby or myself could ride -- with his ankle, we know there are going to be days when holding the heavy Indian up is not an option. I would like to add a CB to the F3 with the following setup (know this works because hubby has it...

    Prayers for Lamont

Short Update Lamont went home on Friday … so, at least he is out of the hospital. He has a long road to recovery, however, so please continue your chosen form of sending good wishes for his return to good health. Joan is keeping things pretty close to the vest right now, so I do not believe...

    Prayers for Lamont

Thank You Thank You Joan, for taking time out of your extraodinary schedule to update us all here. As several have said, here and on FB, if there is anything you need .... just ask. Continued prayers and yet another reminder to take care of yourself as well. All the best ...

    Prayers for Lamont

Prayers Lifted I met Joan and Lamont for the first time at Spyders in the Ozarks just this month -- what a joy to finally meet both of them! Joan and I have been friends online for several years and have helped each other through some tough times; like when my mom was so sick and then when...

    Frunk Fuse Covers -- Gaskets

The fuse covers in the frunk are really meant to keep water out of the frunk and have a stick on gasket. These are not the actual fuse box covers, just the "access" covers for the fuse boxes. Anyway, we rode home from Spyders in the Ozarks on Friday in a monsoon. Rained so hard in some spots...

Question -- Proper Way to Test Grounds in the Main Harness

Radio Shop and Chokes Yes, I have talked with an "old time" CB guy at the local truck stop …. he is the one that suggested checking the antenna several months ago and, via that process, I was able to prove that the J&M antenna was also damaged when the compressor was replaced. He had me check...

Question -- Proper Way to Test Grounds in the Main Harness

Here is, yet another post about my $%%^&* CB …. yes, still facing static on receive (like there is a loose ground "somewhere"). BRP senior tech rep for this area of the US has asked that I check three black wires on the connector going from the main harness to the radio. Not difficult to...

    No Power on GPS Cradle

Fuses and Harness The Garmin GPS cradle, has a fuse of it's own. In addition, the whole GPS harness is plugged into the radio harness under the seat / tupperware. As the compressor replacement requires removal of the entire back of the bike (the cargo module) it is likely that they also...

    Bad key !

Save One or Two -- At Least One that I know of is SpyderAnn01 … when her 2013 RT caught fire, she calmly cut the engine with the kill switch and got to the side of the road quickly. Spyder was totaled …. Ann was fine (all be it shaken). All the rider courses teach you to use the engine...

    BRP BELT TENSIONER

Selling Parts No, on both counts. Doc sells the complete unit and does this so he can stand behind it and warranty any problems that may come up. The only time I know of that he has sold the roller separately was fairly early on when someone had a bit of play in the bearing …. Doc improved...

    2016 RT Front Panel Removal

CB Status Well …. yes, and no. The antenna is definitely grounded; confirmed via continuity test through the coax to the ground point. The coax also appears intact, testing from CB end to antenna base. The antenna itself was just replaced by J & M, so I presume it is also good. As for the...

    2016 RT Front Panel Removal

I would like to take a peak behind the frunk at the back of the fuse boxes -- I am chasing the 8 ground points on my 2016 RT to make sure all are intact and tight as I STILL have a ground issue that affects my CB reception. So, I would like to remove just the two front panels that sit on either...

2 odd fault codes C1183 and U0155 last night

I have seen this code once, on my 2012, and I caused it! I was adjusting the clock (since it likes to time travel into the future), had just pulled into the shop after a ride so the engine was idling, and I had not yet set the park brake. While I was adjusting the clock, my foot drifted off the...

    TricLED is definitely the best

Competition Of course competition is welcome on this board. There is a great deal of back story as to why some previous site sponsors are no longer there (TriCled may be one that is gone, I have not checked). Suffice it to say that social media has done the Spyder community no favors. Too...

2011 RT Limited no Air Box

    Spyder storage option

Math Lesson Gene …. the three legs for the stand all comes down to geometry. Since three points define a plane, the frame will never rock and will always have a solid three feet on the ground. Had they added the forth leg, it would have affected the stability as there is the potential for an...
