• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My right leg gets real hot

Idea from Spain Check what Spyder enthusiasts in Spain are doing to keep their righ foot cooler. Any other ideas to replace the foam blocks with something more durable will do just fine. All the heat now goes out thru the original black plastic deflector, and they have not yet reported any...

    Purge Valve - Permanent Fix

Gas smell...? The way I see it (and I may be wrong...), you did away with one problem, but the gas smell will continue, unless you get rid of the canister... I thought about doing exactly what you described, but had second thoughts with regards to the gas smell. I am going to do the whole...

    Purge Valve - Permanent Fix

Great idea Mike: I like your idea of using the faucet strainer, and it seems that I already found use for one (surplus from a recent kitchen revamp) that has been kicked around the house. Could you post any pics so as to see how did you make that arrangement at the hose tip? Thanks and...

    Purge Valve - Permanent Fix

Check my routing up to the rear axle. Tried to hide the tip behind the rear fender bracket, but due to a storage kink, the hose always jumps out of its hiding place. Cheers...

    Hindle exhaust and gas smell

Hey Araña: I extended the evap-can breather hose from the goose-neck until the rear axle, and that did away with the gas smell, except when the wind is blowing from the back and I am on a stand-still (e.g. traffic light), or when I drive it into my garage after a ride. In those cases I can see...

    SE5 creeps from a stop

Hi Tom: In my case, RPM's go down because the clutch does not (totally) release / disengage when coming to a stand-still, but since I have to stop (e.g. traffic light), I apply the brake, and it forces the engine down almost to the point of stalling. It is sort of like riding a stick-shift and...

    SE5 creeps from a stop

So early...? GSS: My SE5 has only (+/-) 650 miles in the odometer, and since there is no dealership in this country, I am on my own. If you could give me a technical explanation on why the (centrifugal?) clutch need to be replaced so early if it creeps strongly forward and brings the RPM's...

    SE5 creeps from a stop

The clutch released... Yeah, it seems to work. I just tried it inside the gated compound where I live and the clutch did disengage / release after a throttle blip while braking. Will try it again tomorrow in 'real life' traffic and road situations... BTW, today I installed a spring...

    SE5 creeps from a stop

Carlo on vacation...? I did e-mail Carlo yesterday about my concern with my SE5 creeping and clutch wear and its possible manual adjustment, but I got an automatic response stating that they will be back on service by 14-SEP-09. :dontknow: I e-mailed Lamonster also, to see if he knows how to...

    SE5 creeps from a stop

What about clutch wear...? I have the same problem with my new 2009 SE5 (+/- 650 miles ridden), specially when hot (almost always...) and I am wondering how long my clutch will last, or if the problem will correct itself before it wears the clutch out... No dealership here, so I am on my own...

    rerouting the gas vent

Hey Nudle: I also extended / rerouted the canister vent line around and behind the tank, up to the real axle, on top of the rear swing arm, on the left side (when sitting on the Spyder) opposite to my Hindle exhaust. Regardless of the level of the fuel tank, it always 'burps' plenty of gases...

    My Unique Mods

AKA or BKA...? Mickc: I am an AKA (above the knee amputee), and when I am on the SE5 (probably because of the forward seating position), the edge of the socket of my old artificial leg feels uncomfortable on my left buttock and upper hip, so I ride it without the artificial leg. When I get...

    My Unique Mods

Hey Wheelz: I have a new 2009 SE5, and being an left leg amputee, when I go to the gas station, it gets kind of tricky and uncomfortable to get down from the seat on the right side, open and lift the seat, open and close the gas tank (especially when you have to press the cap down and turn it...

    OK...I get it!

Browards Motorsports I bought my SE5 from Browards and, except for a few unanswered phone queries that I had before I decided to buy from them, they did quite good and got a good deal. Ask for Glenn Hernandez and tell him that the guy in Venezuela sent you, and of course give him my...

    SE5 not shifting

Scotty: Yesterday night, after removing all the side-forward tupperware in my SE5 and looking at the main ground lug..., I had second thoughts. But then, when I finally managed to slip my hand behind the frame member to verify if the lug-nut was tack welded (it wasn't...) I decided not to...

    Official BRP Coil Pack fix

Hey 3WD: Thanks for the reminders. I'll install the longer ground wire soon and then see if things improve. Getting any cooler in Maracaibo in mid-August...? You had to be kidding me... You know how it gets... Even in December, when locals refer to the 'hielitos' (winter ice), temps...
