• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    HMF OMG WOW

Yabbadabbadoo I installed one of these on my machine at 38kms, it completely changes the character of the machine. Best $285 I've spent in a while. A tiny bit loud, but not too shabby for sure.

    Backrest

I just got the OEM 2nd gen with the part # ending 350. It feels like it's worth every penny that BRP robbed me of. It is heavy duty, well padded, good looking, removable, and feels and looks well made and expensive. I was looking at the cheaper ones, and I wouldn't have minded the 10 speed /...

    Heard this today about Spyders

Meh - Not everyone gets it Meh - Not everyone gets it. Some on this forum would say I don't get it. Whatever. I do think that these are machines for somewhat risk averse people. Those of us who, ya know, have work and family responsibilities that are aided when we keep our bodies intact. For...

Can an RS be made a comfortable cruiser for 2

Some just want an RS I got an RS because I do not care for the look or stance of the other models, and touring will be a secondary function, as in maybe 2 weeks out of every year, as I don't count a 2 day ride as touring. I will add the BRP backrest (let's be honest, money aside, it is the one...

    new/different oil filter SM5 AND OTHERS ??

Sorry to resurrect and old thread. But I have a question! Does the new filter fit inside the "old" housing? Does it require some new parts? Context - I have a brand new 2011 (non-current) that I just got, and I am unsure what will happen at the first oil change. I assume BRP discontinued the...

    From perspective owner to OWNER - New Spyder - 2011 RS-S SM5

So after renting a GS for 4 days in northern California, when my wife and I put on 1300 miles, and being thoroughly impressed, we found a brand new / non-current - 2011 RSS SM5 with .8km's on it. Some observations of the rental. Lots of fun with! We did almost all top notch twisty roads, and...

Why isnt' the Spyder more popular!

One last thing...... There is no accounting for taste, or preference, so my comments about the F3 could just mean I have bad taste, right? But, it is not a "sport" machine, even with the VSC envelope broadened, it is more of a style / cruiser machine. It's front end and profile look terrible to...

Why isnt' the Spyder more popular!

Classy post. Way to go straight to ad hominem. You may disagree with my opinions, but you sir, are a person of low character. You are acting as if I insulted your parentage or something? EDIT*** What I do for a living is not really relevant, hence the edit. Alienating people who get personal and...

Why isnt' the Spyder more popular!

Thanks for for making my point. My sincere apologies for my lack of grace. Oh, and I haven't ridden a sportbike in 18 years, so let's no make too many assumptions. I just don't like that my choices outside of the 2 wheeled world consist of a neutered 3 wheeler, or a conversion, which in my...

Why isnt' the Spyder more popular!

That F3 will only attract poseurs with bad taste. It looks Aweful, like a recliner, a coffe table, and some orange scaffolding got squashed together. Until they appeal to the "sport rider" spectrum, only a focused buyer will consider the Spyder. Consider many younger buyers will dislike anything...

Why isnt' the Spyder more popular!

Allowing riders full control of the machine would be a significant first step in erasing the "wuss" factor. Some will crash, but the fact is, nobody likes being told what to do by a nanny. no reason to not allow on throttle antics, in fact, most newer vehicles with VSC, only disable it until a...

    Hesitation on hard right turns

Back from the dead! Hey Fellas. I know this thread went dead last year, but I figured I should check and see if there was anything new with regards to this? Some notes on the Stability Control System. It takes inputs from all sensors, and basically calculates from steering angle, and vehicle...
