• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Running Out of Time - SM10 Question

When I installed the GPS, I had to purchase a harness from BRP that plugs into the radio harness plug behind the right saddlebag. I'll bet this is the same harness you are referring to. Now, If I only knew where to plug the SENA SM10 into this harness...?

Running Out of Time - SM10 Question

I tried to cherry pick a couple of responders to past SM10 BT transmitter postings to get the answer, but I'm running out of time with a big trip coming up. So I will open this up to the general group. I want to install the SM10 BT module from SENA; however, I'm not sure where it connects to...

    HID 2013 RT-S

Just did the HID install on a 2012 RT-S. It came from Xenon Depot and with the Spyderlovers pricing, was relatively inexpensive. Not a bad install process, either. We did both the headlights and fog lights for $290. Call X-D and they can help you select the correct bulb. Look for their...

    Praying for Justice

You didn't mention his age, but with counseling he can overcome these unfortunate circumstances, not to mention the importance of the love he gets from you and other trustworthy family members. As upsetting as it is, allowing the judicial system to work this out on the perpetrators of this...

    Improving MPG

I often get asked, "What kind of gas mileage do you get on that 'thing'?" My answer is always something like, "Relative to the fun I'm having, I'd say it's great mileage." Also, my Roto-Pax, one-gallon container fits nicely into my frunk. A spare gallon is a good thing when out on trips...

    Improving MPG

Happy is what riding a Spyder is all about. Breaking 30 mpg riding two-up at those speeds gives me something to look forward to. My 2012 RT-S has about 2,300 miles on it and I just broke the 28 mpg mark and looking forward to increasing that to at least 30, but the way I ride the darn thing...

    Bumpskid....is it needed?

Yep, my heart sank last Saturday when I pulled into a fast food restaurant and bumped a curb with the tip of my frunk. Small bump that scraped paint off the lower nose that would have otherwise been protected by a skid plate. ...Gnirtsnod

    Replacing 2010 Rt-s Headlight bulbs

Oh please, let me answer this one! I begged for help on the forum and finally discovered how to do it...and the other posters are right - it's easy...the second time!!! Holding the base of the mirror where it attaches to the bike, rap upward on the outside edge of the mirror (the narrow end of...

    Tupperware Party

My son-in-law hosted a tupperware party in his garage, yesterday. We stripped down my 2012 RT-S to install HID headlights, HID fog lights (both from Xenon Depot) and the BRP GPS mount and harness. After an afternoon of discovery and problem solving, not to mention two phone calls to Doc...

2012 RT limited gas mileage issue

I just bought the Rotopax one gallon can. Built tough for four-wheeling and fits perfectly, sitting straight up, in the frunk bottom.

    Question for Corbin Seat Owners

It's not nice to pound on a Spyder! There are two adjustment points for your seat to get it to align with the locking pin. One is the hinge bracket on the underneath side of the seat at the very back. The two bolts holding this bracket to the seat can be loosened and the bracket moved away...

    Garage Door Remote

krzychick is right. Flash to pass is a great solution. Wire in the transmitter to your bright light switch and the receiver into the garage door opener and then all it takes is a bright-dim-bright combination and the garage door responds - open or close.

Secret Lab - keep it that way

I talked with Doc for the first time yesterday. What a nice and helpful guy. You are fortunate to live so close. BTW, the sway bar is a must and you will enjoy your ride even more.

    Potential buyer with questions

Notice that I sliced a question out of the middle to provide feedback on. I'm 62 and I was worried that the Spyder would be seen as a bike for an older rider, and it is...and for a rider my age, and yours, and even younger. Logically, older riders, including myself, have to be concerned about...

    Xtreme HID Kit Question

I'm thinking about ordering the Xtreme digital HID kit to upgrade my headlights and fog lights. Planning to order the 9005 and H11 bulbs. Any feedback is appreciated. Are Phillips bulbs a must?

    Vibration on 2012 RTS

I've had the same issue with my 2012 RT-S at speeds in the same range. I alway felt (and continue to do so) that I was dealing with a harmonic and so long as I was rolling through it, I would be okay. Can harmonics be bad? Heck yeah. Watch this example of harmonics to the extreme...

Which handles better, Spyder or bike?

Let's face it. A big motive of involvement in any forum is a concept called 'confirmation bias', meaning that we are looking for confirmation that our choice was best. It's a group of like-minded people who choose to argue over the better farkle, not the better bike. Let someone who is not a...

    Interstate Driving

I believe Dizneyman man has the answer. I, too, took my 2012 on an extended interstate run for the first time about six weeks ago. After an hour, my neck was cramping because of the 'death grip' that I had on the grips and the bike was not tracking like I expected. I changed the grip...

    Goldwing to Spyder ...

The first 400 miles for us was questionable. We were not sure if we made the right choice moving over to the Spyder (from an HD Ultra), but we hung in there and now we are at the fun stage. We went out tonight for a 50 mile ride and my wife was like a queen on the throne riding down the...
