• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery/Starting slow spin - is this common & why doesn't it start like a normal motorcycle?

That is not a valid statement. The alternator is capable of putting out 90 amps max, it is voltage regulated to 14.5 volts and will only provide the current needed by the bikes equipment and also slowly charge the battery. It is not dumping 90 amps into the battery as that would destroy it...

New Coolant will not circulate after refill, completing successful flush and change - anyone else? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

The BMW K1200LT was notorious for getting a big bubble of air trapped if you filled it too fast. The best defense is to know the capacity of the system and measure that amount out first before you start filling. If it all goes in with none left over, you are home free; but if it overflows and...

My MPG skyrocketed in ECO Mode - is ECO Mode really that much better?

Your MPG will change more with full break-in of the engine than it will with a mode change. Plus to get an accurate MPG after any change in mode you need to drive a few hundred miles in that mode for it to mean anything.

Trying to connect a 2020+ 4 pin Trailer wiring harness & Bushtec Turbo II 6 pin Trailer harness to retain light capability - any help appreciated?

Take a look at what I did for my Bushtech harness on my Sypder: https://www.spyderlovers.com/threads/how-i-connected-my-2024-rtl-to-a-bushtec-trailer-with-independent-tail-brake-and-turn-signals.162663/#post-1734807 Also, Bushtec used to have LED replacement units for the square lights on the...

Where are you from? Where do you live?

Started out in the San Francisco Bay Area (the OTHER end of the Golden Gate Bridge). After 27 years in the US Navy ended up in a sleepy bedroom community North of Huntsville AL. Great place to live and have watched it grow for thirty years. Now Huntsville is the largest city in AL. Bad: too...

Weird story time!! White smoke and it smelt like wood burning!?

How do you think the mouse felt when you fired the bike up!!

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I picked one of the hottest days of the year to take my Spyder to my dental cleaning appointment. It was 81° as I rode in to town and 91° on the way home. The best part about this ride was that it was just a spur of the moment decision and I felt comfortable just jumping on the bike and getting...

What is the function of the Rear signature light on an RTL? How does it turn on & off?

There are glitches in the manual, when I first got my Spyder it was confusing at best. Much better info here on this site.

What is the function of the Rear signature light on an RTL? How does it turn on & off?

I think this is the correct lighting layout for a US model. At least it matches my 2024 RTL which does not have any backup lights on the saddle bags.

My first impressions of the 2023 Spyder RTL

Once you learn to lean in to the corners, you will find your speed going up. Loosen your grip and the twitchiness will go away. Now it does follow the washouts on the road, so it wobbles a bit there because of three wheels; with two or four wheels you never feel it. It took me almost 1,000 miles...

Clock Setting screen no longer works, any help appreciated!?

If it was off by 1 hour, could that have been a time zone issue? I still have not gone out to disconnect my battery, as it is too hot out in that garage.

Clock Setting screen no longer works, any help appreciated!?

My garage is close enough that most times it does connect to my WiFi when I turn on the key. Racoon: Why were you surprised that it showed the correct time? Did you do something to make it not be correct beforehand?

    Hitch installed off-center - Ideas?

The hitch does look offset to the left but it is centered on the tire, at least my factor hitch is that way.

Clock Setting screen no longer works, any help appreciated!?

I may run a test and disconnect my battery just to see what the clock does. On 3.1 each time I disconnected the battery I would HAVE to reset the date and time. I'll let everyone know what I find out.

Clock Setting screen no longer works, any help appreciated!?

I noticed that a choice was no longer available to "set clock" after installing 4.1, maybe they are getting time from your WiFi or phone now as all I have to do was adjust the time zone.

Problem with trip meters - Regardless of which is selected, only No 2 shows on the dash! Any suggestions?

I don't know how the '22 RTL screens operate, but on the '24's, you touch the screen at the mileage location and it cycles between Odometer, Trip A, and Trip B with each press.

Anyone tried Washing/Cleaning the Pads from inside a helmet?

Likewise I have pulled what ever I could pull out and wash gently and let air dry. I have done this on every helmet I have owned. The bits I could not remove were at least wiped down with a damp rag.

BRP Connect Ver 4.1 is now available

I thought I needed to reset my clock but I realized it was the correct time just the time zone was wrong, and I had to reset the audio out to headset.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Yesterday, I learned you do not want to shut off your 2024 RTL while in Reverse. The bike will think it is in reverse when you turn it back on to do a software update in the garage. I have the parking brake off and it rolls, but as I was waiting for Wi-Fi and then the down load, a lot of time...
