• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Clutch feels like it's not engaging - any suggestions?

He's actually talking about clutch engagement, not transmission gear shift cogs. Is this another instance of the clutch basket center nut backing out?

Sudden noise, chirping, & vibration from RHSide engine - anyone else? Ideas?

Some possibilities: Drive belt: maybe some rust on pulleys, maybe the rear wheel alignment shifted slightly, maybe something got caught in a tooth (eg, very small pebble). I recommend careful inspection with rear wheel lifted off the ground using a small bright LED flashlight. Look for shiny...

Sudden noise, chirping, & vibration from RHSide engine - anyone else? Ideas?

"I was riding" About what speed and gear were you riding? Was it a hot or cool day? "a noise, a chirping sound, and a little vibration" Is this three things, or two things? Was the noise loud? Did it match the chirping sound? Was the chirping sound loud? Is it still chirping? Does it happen...

JP58 - as a very active member you know SpyderLovers doesn't charge by word count. So use more of them. Starting with answering BajaRon's questions.

Cruise Control Headache (RTS) - Goes ON, but will not engage! Any ideas?

JMK -- as you probably know the MSR CC buttons are wired to the MSL where they are converted to CANBUS messages. Maybe just maybe you have a problem with the contacts in the MSR.

Subsection XX page 26-27 of my service manual shows alignment procedure. It also says BUDS is required to set the pulley at its reference position.

Any Repair Shop Recommendations in Los Angeles?

SCTA El Mirage archive begins in 2013 https://scta-bni.org/archived-results I see an HEGO after the turbo exhaust - was that for your accessory AFR gauge? I assume BRP's HEGO was before the turbo inlet. Did you have any onboard data logging? That's a tidy installation, although not for long rides.

At what point does the cooling fan come on wrt temp gauge?

msgoodwrench - the high (5) low (3) bounds you are seeing are concerning. If you haven't checked your coolant level in the last 1K miles or 3 months this should be on your to-do list. Low coolant levels can give abnormal indications depending on conditions. Best wishes.

I believe the contact information for Pirate Pete is https://nuwber.com/person/563a28867686b0176bf55dbe Were you are El Mirage earlier this month? I didn't know a Spyder was running. We're running the Eyre's roadster 832. Been trying for two years to run methanol. After breaking an engine...

First ride of the year in Northern California Drain as much gas as you can, add Heet or something similar and then add a gallon or two of gas. Most likely you'll be riding again without anymore fuss.

Is the F3T Passenger seat the same as the F3S? Want more comfort?

Yes they the same. Answering your question is kinda complicated and difficult. First you go to the Can-Am Parts Finder https://can-am-shop.brp.com/on-road/us/en/electronic-parts-catalog-intro.html Then you find the part number of your F3-S seat (708002806) Then you find the part number of the...

    Steering Darting issue solved!

SAS CANBUS message id is 0C3h with a rate of 2.5 - 5 Hz. I'm not sure about the rate because my sniffer software is a bit flaky, my laptop is slow and I don't remember if the engine was running but certainly it was parked and I wasn't moving the handlebars. // Can-Am Spyder uses Keyword...

    Steering Darting issue solved!

RS -- thanks for sharing this -- symptoms then resolution. As BR said, the SAS has to be aligned electronically as it doesn't have a mechanical alignment. The SAS transmits steering angle over CANBUS many times per second (another member provide details several years ago) which is used by the...

Anyone know what this Chirping noise might be?

Concur with PMK - classic symptoms of alternator clutch slip. There are two reasons the chirp occurs when you start the engine: (1) the starter energy needs to be restored by the alternator, therefore increasing alternator clutch loading. (2) the alternator charging profile is highest at low...

Fitted New Rotors and Pads, now there's weird wear marks! Is this normal?

So I grabbed my jack and lifted a front wheel. Spun it slow and fast. Just the softest whisper of a swoosh. Grabbed the wheel and pulled hard. Easily made a full turn before it stopped. My rotor surfaces look better than yours and they have 95K miles on them.

Spyder will not leave Neutral for reverse or forward - any ideas?

Since your brake pedal must be depressed, let's test that circuit. With ignition Off, press and release the brake pedal - does the brake light turn on and off? Also, press the Horn button to double-check - it should beep. If the brake pedal and horn switch are working properly, then we need to...

Fitted New Rotors and Pads, now there's weird wear marks! Is this normal?

I suspect your caliper pistons are not retracting properly. I suggest completely flushing the brake system, all three wheels at least twice using at least 16oz of name brand DOT4. The front wheels need to turn easily with just a light "swoosh" sound. Failure to retract properly (it's just a...
