• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Tires and slipperiness

If I'm going to be riding in rain at all (touring) I try to at least get 300 miles on new tires on dry roads before pushing them in rain. That's just me ... even with 4 new car tires... cautious for about the same distance til I know they are a bit scrubbed and grip well in wet.

Just wanting to say hi to the group

Hang in there, it will come with a few miles. It took me about 1000 miles to train my brain to think spyder. The first year I was reaching for a hand brake at first a lot, then not as much. By season 2 of riding... that was programmed into my brain too. I'm 63 and have been riding since jr...

    Rotella Deal at Fleet Farm

I've done rebates with them several times and always have had the rebate come to me.

    Rotella Deal at Fleet Farm

I just bought a 2.5 gallon jug of Rotella T6 5/40 that was on sale at Fleet for 39.99. Rotella has a $20 rebate on that size container. 2 1/2 gallons of T6 for $20 makes for a couple very inexpensive oil changes. The offer from Rotella is good until 12/31, so if you see their products on...

1330cc 2022 New model or not?

A friend who works in R&D for Indian said they did well working through the pandemic last year. Sales are flying high and new product stream has not been impacted for them. They can't build especially the Polaris label UTV's fast enough to keep up with demand. Bike sales have been excellent...

95,000 mile RT, would you buy it?

Is it just me or does that price sound a tad high for a '14 spyder with 95,000 on the clock? I would think as the season comes closer to an end maybe a few really good deals will pop up? Just looked and even imotorsports has a white '14 RT with 11,000 miles for 18k.

Do you wear boots when riding?

I still wear the same gear that I wore on 2 wheels... tourmaster boots now, riding pants on tours and jeans when not, textile jacket, helmet and gloves when not too beastly hot. I went down 4 years ago and besides a broken leg/ankle (boot didn't save that) I had no road rash. Getting cut off...

Licence plate housing fell off... Need help on the part# for replacement?

Last June on a ride through the Ozarks I lost my license plate on the way there somewhere in IL. I rode around for a week without a plate. I had police cars following me and they left me alone. I figured they thought either it was new or were spooked by covid ... or (I was offended) I didn't...

    Noticed a leakage today.

Hope to tour your country some day. My mother's ancestors came from there and ran down far back wedding records to a church that still exists outside Aust Agder. Ship builder that knew his stuff. He left the docks there and didn't stop until he, people and his sloop arrived in New York :)...

QUESTION, how much do you hate digging out your battery on older models

I joined the "hate" club, but space in the frunk is at a premium for me when touring... so I groan and moan every few years to pull things apart to get at the battery. :)

    Clutch Master Cylinder - RS SM5 2010

Does anyone know where to get a replacement rubber gasket for under the reservoir cover on a manual RS SM5 (2010). I've gone to Cheapcycleparts.com, Brp parts and find the reservoir cover but not the rubber gasket and... if they are one piece, everywhere the cover part is not available. The...

    Communication Devices which works best

I have an old Sena SMH10 and so do a few buddies. They work well for up to 4. They can work with more if you choose to use your mobile phone with them. The newer Sena and Cardo have mesh that allows linking up larger groups through the unit (not the phone). If our group would expand, we'd...

    Spyder sales

You are right that outdoor sports things are selling well. I have a buddy that is an engineer for Indian and all across Polaris' line things are selling faster than they can produce them, especially utv's. I think it is pent up demand to break out of the house, cash from cancelled vacations...

Anyone got a spare Retaining clip for 2010 front brake pads?

He moved from his home in Winthrop Harbor IL ... so no idea where he now resides. I've had this Spyder now going on 4 years and still really enjoying it, even if its an older generation... like me! :) Thanks Paul. Dave

Anyone got a spare Retaining clip for 2010 front brake pads?

They probably did... he had a bunch of loose stuff he bagged and nothing in the box of parts he gave me. So I'm unfortunately missing the clips. I do have enough oil filters for the next 38 1/2 years though... so appreciate my box of stuff.

Anyone got a spare Retaining clip for 2010 front brake pads?

These are oem ... the guy I bought from was a brp employee... but just the pads and filters and stuff in a box and in baggies. So not EBC product. :( Thanks though.
