• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone know of the amp draw of the stock horn on the RT? - 2012 RT

What Ray said. The horn for the 2012 is powered by F8. But, F8 also powers all electrical loads downstream of the load shedding relay once the engine starts. So, hitting that circuit with an additional 7 amps might not be the best. I thought there might have been a relay kit someplace that...

2015 F3 S - are there specific locations the footpegs adjust to? How far back? What to look for in a new to me purchase?

Just for the sake of accuracy, Lc, only the sprocket recall applies to the 2015. The shaft recall mentioned above is separate and began for the 2017 MY. Here's a copy of the Sprocket Recall Safety Bulletin. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2022/RCRIT-22V352-1338.pdf

Need HELP?! My Spyder is running Hot at High Speeds?

So, the bug screen clogs up with bugs instead of the radiators. Same effect. Suggestion would be to remove the screen, thoroughly clean it, inspect and clean the radiators, and go out and do a test drive. See what's what then. If still hot, do a test without the screen. A screen cuts down on...

Shifter woes have me stumped... Won't shift up - again! What's my next step?

99% of the time, shifting problems in the SE5 are due to one of two things. 1 - Low oil level in the tank. Shifting is performed by hydraulic oil pressure from the pump in the HCM. Low oil level affects the pumps ability to build up sufficient pressure. Maintain oil level in accordance with...

Brooks Powersports in PA - reviews wanted - anyone had any experience with them?

Well, I didn't mean"issues" as in something that the dealer would not want to talk about. Just, trying to read your mind and thinking of what you wouldn't be happy with. For example, it has a Two Brothers Racing exhaust, and, unless it's the lighting or shadows, what appears to be a RLS cat...

Brooks Powersports in PA - reviews wanted - anyone had any experience with them?

Not personally. But, hundreds of 5 Star Google reviews. You had mentioned in another thread of being interested in a ST and that you had back and hip stuff going on. Welcome to that club. I was just going to try to talk you out of that specific unit, that's all. Noticed some things in the...

Where is the Starter & Solenoid on an F3?

Hey Shubb. What year F3 is yours? Well, answering that first question, the starter solenoid is down beside the battery on the left side of the bike. Left as you're sitting on it. You can get to it without removing the frunk, but it's really awkward. But, checking the tightness of the...

Battery Query - Does the Can-Bus system cause a battery drain?

Oooohhhh. You were talking about the CANBUS mode on the Optimate. True. That mode is not applicable for the Spyder. Just the opposite. You’ll WANT the Optimate to go into desulfation mode to help recover the battery if it can be. Otherwise, new battery time. Taking a quick look at my 2023...

Battery Query - Does the Can-Bus system cause a battery drain?

Hey John. It's not about the CANBUS system, but simply about the parasitic drain from the battery that's supplied to the on-board computers for keep-alive power. The newer the Spyders, the higher this drain is. You've got the best battery maintainer - in my view - and you could be looking at a 5...

Anyone close to Pembroke Pines with BUDS and able to clear error codes?

Ok. If by Yes, you mean that you have both of those codes, let's go with the easy one first. C0049 - your brake fluid level in the reservoirs is still too low. It's a design flaw and a common issue until you get accustom to it. The reservoir slants down towards the front of the bike, but the...

Anyone close to Pembroke Pines with BUDS and able to clear error codes?

It's a funny thing about error codes. You need to fix the underlying problem. Otherwise, even if you clear them with BUDS, they will come right back. You don't need BUDS in order to find out what they are. With the machine running and the codes and warning lights active, simultaneously depress...

What is the 'proper' method to secure a Spyder on or in a trailer for transport?

BRP recommendations for how to transport the machine is in your Operator's Guide. The lower control arms are used in order to pull the bike up onto a trailer or flatbed if the machine is incapacitated and can't drive up under its own power. However after that, lock it down using the straps...

2013 RSS SE5 has weak/broken paddle shifter springs - anyone else??? Anyone have extra parts for the internals? Ideas on where to get them?

Yeah, it's just a home remedy. They go limp after many years. You've already learned how to take it apart and put it back together. That's the hard part. Here's a thread describing installation of SS springs from Amazon. https://www.spyderlovers.com/threads/shifter-lever-fix.139591/

2014 Spyder RT Ltd missing at just above an idle - any recommendations, other than spark plugs?

Well, you need to do your entire 28K service, even if some things are a PITA... and even if they are expensive if you have a shop do it. Ron recently started a thread explaining why changing plugs at 28K may have merit. Especially because you are having performance issues. It's not just about...

Have any of you added an Aux Tank to a 2020+ RT?

In this system, the fuel pressure regulator is an integral part of the fuel pump. It's not out on the fuel rail. It functions as a back-pressure regulator on the return line - modulating return line flow to regulate system pressure. During operation, the entire system, including the return line...

Have any of you added an Aux Tank to a 2020+ RT?

In other vehicles and applications without a separate tank vent, that is the vent line that goes to the charcoal canister. This port is blanked off, or just not drilled out at all, for the Spyder’s pump module. There’s nothing on it externally to blank it off, and it’s not open to atmosphere...
