• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Why you should flush your brake fluid properly

    Using Buds, it took me less than an hour to perform the brake fluid flush routine. A realistic dealership I think should charge 2.5 hrs labor.

    The VCM activates the solenoids in the ABS for each circuit of the brake system(each wheel), so, just energizing the ABS Motor does not accomplish bleed of each wheel circuit properly.

    I performed the brake bleed using BUDS interface last week on my F3L. During the bleed process, buds cycles the ABS pump while MANUALLY pumping the brake pedal. So, having said that……if one does NOT have BUDS, I think you can get away with bleeding the system……..accomplishing 90% flush...

    Lift spyder off ground for access to left front plastic panel underneath spyder. Remove 3 plastic rivets and 1 torx head screw. Bleeder is on top of ABS unit

    I flushed the brake fluid on my 2019 F3L this afternoon using the BUDS interface……..I was surprised how much crap came out of ABS Pump bleed port……….the positive of bleed is the Brake Pedal is Firmer now.

    Dot 3 vs Dot 4 brake fluid - DOT 4 absorbs moisture, so don't o/look maintenance!

    Your Spyder probably uses DOT 4 brake fluid with a maintenance schedule of every 2 years. Dot 4 has a tendency to absorb more moisture from the atmosphere than Dot 3 fluid, BUT Dot 4 has a higher boiling point with less seal swell than Dot 3. My Spyder only has 11k on it and I found the fluid...
