• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    31) Brake Free Smart Helmet LED Brake Light Difficulty Level - 1.0 Tips - Take one of the two mounting pads and test fit it in various areas of the helmet. Doing so will give you the best possible placement with the maximum surface area adhesion. I've found that the higher you mount this pad...

Yes, good memory !! The bike I rode that day was my first Harley, an XL883 Low. The current bike I have now is the Iron 1200. It's a bit quicker with the extra 317ccs, and I REALLY love the look a bit better with the mini-apes and fairing. The Cobra Neighbor Hater slip-on exhausts are also...

I thought about riding to your house last Saturday on my Iron 1200 (I don't think you've ever seen it) when it was 70 degrees (SEVENTY DEGREES !!!), but I was preoccupied with installing this seat. Here are a few pics of my expensive vibrator/noisemaker: -

Yeah, like you I'm itching to ride. I think it's because of this unusually warm weather we've been experiencing. (It's SO difficult to get into skiing/snowboarding this year (I do both), because the snow is too slushy and sticky. Oh well ....) Anyway, here are before and after pics as per...

    30) Ultimate Seat with Driver and Passenger Backrest Difficulty Level - 1.5 Tips - BEFORE YOU START, USE RAGS OR ROLLED UP PAPER TOWELS TO COVER ALL THE HOLES UNDERNEATH THE SEAT, NOT JUST THE ONE BIG ONE BETWEEN THE SEAT HINGES!! (Because if you forget to wrap a rag around the brake master...

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

Don't get me wrong, I ALSO have positive interactions at the gas pumps, outside restaurants/bars, etc. I'd say about 9/10 are good ones. But there ARE some negative ones as well. (Hey Lew, starting next month I'm going to start skiing on Fridays. I'll text you if you want to meet up on the...

Let’s start a fad - passing Spider Rings (from Amazon) to other Spyders

I have Gremlin Bells installed on both my RT-L and Iron 1200. I always worry that I would crush them going over speed bumps, lol.

Annoyingly, my '21 RTL will only cancel Cruise by touching the brake pedal or downshifting - are there any other ways?

Cruise control was the best thing ever invented since sliced bread. I use it. A LOT. It really IS "the bee's knees".

I'm even more of a Spyder fan than I was before

I think that the older you get, the more you appreciate ryding a Spyder. Ryde till you can't do it anymore!!

Buying a new helmet - who replaces them every 5 years per manufacturers spec??

To be honest, if you store your helmet inside away from the damaging effects of the sun's UV rays, and all the foam padding inside is still intact and not squashed, why even consider buying a new helmet?? Just make sure it wasn't dropped or was hit in any way. Most manufacturers claim that...

Any thoughts about running Car Tires On The Rear?

My next rear tire WILL be a car tire. I am more of a Michelin, Continental, Pirelli fan boi, so I'm going to have to research this, but not for another 10k miles or so.

After some True Can-Am insight - will I be making a huge mistake buying the RTL or F3?

Here's my opinion, take it for what it's worth. Avoid 1st or 2nd year new model runs. I don't believe that they have worked out the bugs yet. I think that with each new model introduction, they improve the reliability. Good luck with whatever decision you make. Just make sure you get one. ;)

It pays to buy quality gear

The old adage still applies: "Ya git whut ya pay fer" ESPECIALLY with riding gear.

Reminder - record your End-of-Year milage for comparison/averages/new goals! And Happy New Year!

Didn't do much Spyder ryding this year because I got obsessed and installed with a lot of mods for my Iron 1200 and rode that bike more often. Don't see the mileage increasing much THIS year either, as I'm not totally finished modifying it, lol.

Forever mystified by Can Am's lack of style...

It is my opinion that they limit color choices to simplify things and further increase company profits.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Been eyeing some websites to improve the stock seats. My a** gets numb after about an hour, and I even tried that air pad thingie which didn't really do jack. I'm skinny, and probably need to eat a lot more to get more "padding" back there, lol. Stay tuned...

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

Nope, you don't need our disapproval from those ATGATT people. You do whatever you want, whatever makes you happy, especially at your age.

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

To compare driving a 'vert like a Miata, where you're protected from the elements, to riding a Spyder, where you're out in the open, is really laughable. Not EVEN close. When people ask me such obnoxious questions, I just turn the question around and say something like, "Are YOU the one riding...
