• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How do you secure your Helmets when leaving your bike?

Set it on the seat and drape my crash jacket over it. Just because something isn't cheap doesn't mean it is a great target for thieves.

    American Buffalo

Part 1 of Ken Burns latest documentary, the American Buffalo, aired on PBS last night. One of the factors leading to the decimation of the buffalo population was killing them solely for the hide. One of the tactics used by native Americans, and later by white hunters, for killing was to drive...

Have Forum postings slowed down ???

Could be. :ohyea: In any case just because postings have slowed down that is no indication of the forum losing value. Newer members can benefit from the great archive of experiences and knowledge that have been shared.

Have Forum postings slowed down ???

Boy, lately the traffic on this site has really slowed down. What might be the most likely reason? Is everyone too busy, are members getting bored with the site, or is it as I think, the newness of Spyders in the m/c world has worn off and all things Spyder have matured to the point where there...

Can the Grill & Radiator be Painted? What paint is best?

Interestingly, in contrast the radiators in my Spyder were quite blocked by bugs back in 2016. See discussion and pics here: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?102667-Why-you-need-KOTT-grills&highlight=grasshopper. I did not experience any overheating problems at all.

2014 RT Ltd - ACS - should I Disable it before it fails?

IMO you would be better off to put a rock guard on the bottom end of the air shock. I've got nearly 43,000 miles on my 2014 RTS with no problem with the ACS.

luggage rack and trailer hitch for RT

If you're referring to the Pakitrack in photo #3 of post #5 I think you may be SOL. Their website doesn't show it any more. Actually, it probably was not a great product. It sticks out in the back quite a bit and the way the Spyder hitch bounces anything in it other than soft stuff like...

Which full cover will fit a '17 RT with F4 28" windshield?

I use a Dowco Guardian full cover. It fits over the F4 tall and wide quite nicely. Only downside is if there is a high wind when it's on I have to use an additional strap to hold the front end down. A strong wind will lift it up off the frunk. It is a heavy cover so is a bit bulky to carry.

Can the Grill & Radiator be Painted? What paint is best?

I would not paint the radiators. Grills would be OK. You're sure to affect the heat transfer capability, although maybe not significantly. However, a metal to air interface is not a great heat transfer medium to begin with so it would be best not to compromise it at all. The color of paint...

Where do I connect an SWR meter on a 2014 RT-L?

Because there is so little metal in the Spyder I changed my CB antenna to a Firestik No-Ground-Plane antenna. It helped. I don't remember what I ended up at as far a results using an SWR.

Where do I connect an SWR meter on a 2014 RT-L?

The CB is on the right side below the passenger seat mounted near vertical, more of less in line with the front of the saddlebag. The audio unit is behind and above it and mounted near horizontal. The antenna plugs into the CB directly at the bottom end. Here are the installation instructions...

    What is a VSS fault?

VSS will also show if the passenger seat sensor isn't connected, or has a loose connection. At least that's the case on pre-2020 models.
