• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need the under-seat bracket for 2016 RT back rest - anyone? Or a source?

I have a new to me 2016 RT-L with the stock seat. I would like to add the drivers backrest. A friend of mine has the backrest that I can get very reasonably but does not have the bracket that goes under the seat that the back rest seats in. When he traded his '15, he kept the backrest but...

2020 Top Box Will Not Remain Open - any solutions?

Don't know if you can find a workable size, but many of these are available from any RV dealer. I have replaced many on overhead cupboards.

Old guy, newer bike - where can I get a User Manual?

Just picked up a 2016 pretty blue RTL with about 20K miles that the previous owner (unknown) put Elka stage 2 all around. AMAZING RIDE. Sorry. Not my question. I didn't get the owners manual with the bike and though not a must, I really would like one. Is there a known web site where I might...

What do you use for Adding brake fluid??

Wife just gave me a small eye dropper that she no longer uses. Can't just accumulate things while we are still living on the road. Really like the dental syringe idea. The curved tip would make it easy. I'll remember that one when we land and I can have more stuff. Thanks all.

What do you use for Adding brake fluid??

For the first time for myself, I have had to add brake fluid in my '13 STL SE5. Yes, it has been added at service intervals as the brakes have worn but this is the first time I have had the dreaded "brake failure" light come on and sure enough, it needed a little fluid. But holy @&$%, What...

For a 2014 RT, new shocks

Thank you Aawen. Now I understand. I admit, without knowing that the aribag/lift was just a ride leveling devise, some of the above didn't make sense. I will be seeing my friend today and will go over ALL of the information with him. What he does is his choice, but this will give him some...

For a 2014 RT, new shocks

OK, I have to show my ignorance here. Remember, I ride an ST. When you replace the rear, you STILL keep the air spring with/or instead of a metal spring? You don't just get rid of the air system completely?

    Need a tire pressure reminder?

Thanks to all. I will drop 1 lb. and watch the psi increase as it warms. BTW. I have compared my gauge to other ones and it seems to be pretty accurate. I do use the same gauge all the time for the obvious reasons. Thanks again. I will probably re-open this thread in 4 to 5 months and report.

For a 2014 RT, new shocks

Asking for a friend. He has a 2014 RT that the suspension is sacked. I went to the Fox website and all it shows is bicycle and Harley "stuff". Is that all the aftermarket stuff they are making now? Is he stuck either buying OEM replacements or quite expensive Elka or M2? He plans on keeping...

    Need a tire pressure reminder?

I am getting a little uneven wear on the rear of my ST. Wearing more in the center than the edges. I have about 11K on the tires. I am running Vredesteins all around. Riding 2 up most of the time. Total weight about 320 lbs. Probably to much information. Running 17 lbs. in the rear and...

How many miles on your current Spyder?

Just left Florida. Turned 56K about 2 weeks ago. Have a pretty active summer planned this year. Before we take off I am planning yearly service, new plugs and wires, vacuum hoses, air filter and butterfly plates cleaned. Will be interesting to see what the total will be 1/1/22. That '13 STL...

Help with 2012 RT mirror removal?

Ouch!!! Lets see if Lamonster will let him swap for the magnets. That mirror vibration is driving him a little over the edge. Other than that he got a good deal on a very lightly used '12 RT. Thanks for the guidance.

Help with 2012 RT mirror removal?

Wow. I may have sent my buddy down a blind alley. My '13 ST has 3 covers that come off first before releasing the mirror assembly. Then you can take the 2 parts off so Lamonster's mirror locks can be installed. Can the mirror assembly on these older RTs be disassembled so the pins can be...

Help with 2012 RT mirror removal?

Trying to help a friend with removing the mirrors on his new (to him) 2012 RT. It is his desire to put mirror locks on if they will work but we can't find any videos on either youtube or here on a model this old. We had hoped it was closer to my '13 ST but not even close. Any help on what...

    Motorcycle specific oil source

Whoa, Whoa Whoa....... Lets not get off topic. I'm not talking price or brands. What I am talking about are oils that meet the accepted grades as best for motorcycle (mainly) clutches. All I wanted to do is make others aware of nation wide sources. To some of us that is important.

    Rear Tire Replacement

OK, last year I had all 3 tires "made new" (labor only) for $120 in the Phoenix area. Look for a privateer who has worked on Spyders. They are out there at reasonable prices.

    Motorcycle specific oil source

Just a note to any who may not be aware. I prefer to use motorcycle specific oil in my 998, and I imagine many of you use the same. For those of us who for any reasons want another source other than our dealers, both Auto Zone and O'Rilley auto parts chain stores stock those oils. I have used...

Correct size Airhawk for 2020+ RT?

Isn't the evolution of consumer products interesting. The Airhawk was a truly fine product for year and if the new owner part is true or not, trying to squeeze a few nickels our of the cost by cheapening the product, opens the door for competitors.
