• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Random thought for the day

Generally just a useless word. However, it does express a multitude of expressions when used in triplicate, “blah blah blah”. A singular "blah" is simply condescending the expression & gets to the point. Using more than three are the beginnings of nonsense & confusion of the individual...

Intermittent raw gas smell at start-up and goes away after a few minutes - Any thoughts on what to check next?

Agree, & the OP does not mention any troubles with the fuel cap (this was a known problem on some years - I don’t know what the OP has?)

Any time limit on changing HCM filter during oil change? Is a 10 y/o filter good for a few more years?

** PREVENTATIVE ** maintenance - the standard required maintenance helps Spyders last past 100k miles; the preventative maintenance goes even further. ;)

Am I being too cheap by Not changing the filters on a low milage oil change?

Agree with Jay, unless they're getting their oil tested, they won’t actually know what they're saving or not. Sorry, but I don’t see any actual saving, when the oil/filter change is incomplete. Yes, a yearly change is required, but pushing it though with a 3yr old filter... The filter's can...

    F3S SM6 showing check engine light/message randomly - any thoughts/ideas??

Unfortunately the check engine light is a default catch all... any number of things or combinations can trigger it, usually a low battery or loose connection somewhere that helps trigger other sensors. So it seems anyway... Sometimes a battery load test &/or cleaning the battery terminals...

Anyone ever attended Spyderpops Fall Adventure? Thinking of making the ride this year - 25-26 September 2026

Unfortunately, I have not attended that, but it’s SpyderPops, so there's a good chance it's gonna be good. (Can’t guarantee the weather, who you meet, ect) even just casual visits are fun & beautiful views.

Do you get wet riding in the rain?

Just do it safely. Dry roads & cagers are bad enough on good days, and yes, the rear tire will let you (& the nanny) know how fast you will not be going!
