• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

Thanks for the info. I was wondering about how to get it clean.

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

Good morning. Well I decided to take it all apart since I still have problems. Pretty much the same issue I had in the beginning. At least I know now how to deal with it. I just have to wait 15 to 30 minutes and she starts again. Someone pointed out in the beginning about intermittent fuel pump...

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

Good morning Mikey. I don’t know but I will check into it. First thing this morning is to finalize my approx. 8000 mile RV trip. After that I will start pulling the covers off again. Thanks for the advice.

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

I was on the side of the freeway. No code and I still have the Amazon crank sensor installed. After waiting about 15 minutes, she started right up. I was driving at 75 miles per hour and 5500 rpm when it happened. So I started to drive back home about 20 miles, made it to town, and about 1/2...

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

Yesterday I closed up my Spyder and this morning I added fuel system cleaner and fresh gasoline to the tank and went out for a ride… fingers crossed. The engine was running great. While on the freeway, after 74 miles of driving, the engine just died. It was like someone turned off the ignition...

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

Thanks for your reply. I remember those days when we did all kinds of stuff to our 2 wheel bikes. Took silencers out of the exhaust of my Honda 750 and changed the air box for a better sound and believed we added more power…lol. These days I like it more quiet when going for a ride. Still have...

Mikey Besides getting more space to work on the engine did you notice a performance increase? Did your fuel milage change and how much louder is the engine?

Ron is out of stock for this Item also. I really don‘t like to spend the extra $285, especially when I can make this one myself. I am a retired toolmaker and I don‘t see a problem making one… but most likely I am going to put the OEM box back in place. Thanks for the advice.

Howdy Doug. I just did tighten the worm screws from the coolant system as you recommended. I did 3 of them… I've seen another one down by the radiator. As you can see on my picture, the little screen looks clean. In the next few days I will assemble everything again and take the bike for a run...

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

Hi there. You pointed that one out before in your previous post and I replaced the crank positioning sensor and then got stuck again. So it‘s not that. The other vacuum hose that I can see is the one that goes to the clutch housing. That shouldn’t have anything to do with the starting. But I...

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

Well... I received my new cables from Ton's Performance a little faster than expected. So the fun part started yesterday, taking both sides of Tupperware off, unscrewing part of the frame on the right side (still don't know how I can get the front screw back in the hole), and removing the air...

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

Called BajaRon this morning and she said that they are out of components to make new cables and their supplier seems to be out of stock too…. Checked online for replacement cables some more and ordered cables from Ton‘s Performance. It looks like they are made from the same spiral wound...

Yea. After an half hour she started right up without any problems and I drove home. BajaRon is out of stock on the spark plugs cables.

Then that will be my next move. Just waited around 15 minutes and she almost started for 1 to 2 seconds and died again. Just about like last time. I waited long enough for the tow truck and just before the truck arrived she started right up. I don’t know if it is the temperature of the engine?

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

Here we go again…. I took the bike for a test drive about 25 miles and half way I stopped, turned off the engine for about 5 minutes and she started right back up again. At that point I started to get my hopes up. Drove back home and stopped about a mile from my house to get an ice cream. Tried...

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

I just changed the crankshaft positioning sensor. Tried to start the engine and she didn’t start. Checked for code and it showed P0335. Then I remembered that it was kind of hard to slide the connector together and I checked it… well, I plugged it in the wrong way and that meant it didn’t make a...

Engine Trouble - intermittently won't start! Any ideas on what to look for?

Today’s report… lol. 3 trips (around 8 miles total) around town and she started every time. Took the Tupperware off on the left and located the crank sensor. Removed it just to see if there would be any metal pieces on there like someone else in another forum suggested. Looked clean, just oil on...
