• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question for all, and BRP - why is there not a dip stick mark for the correct oil level in a cold Spyder engine?

I does take some reordering some of your ride priorities. Instead of checking oil at the start of the ride check it at the end. Once you get into this habit you will always know that that you are ready to go, because you already checked the oil.

Any Modification recommendations from those who tour on their Spyders?

Lights can be had from TricLED or Value Accessoties.

3 wheeler crash on the Dragon - was it a Spyder?

That sounds like the Hogs Back above Calf Creek Falls. If you haven't taken time to make the short walk back to the falls, you need to plan on it the next time you are in this area.

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

Oh, I can't wait to hear the rest this. My own park bench story in the mean time, is not near as dramatic. My friend Lonnie and I rode down to Farmington NM from Provo to see his parents, a quick trip. We got as far as Rifle on the way back and we were both too tired. We asked a police officer...

3 wheeler crash on the Dragon - was it a Spyder?

Could you tell from the video if the right side was the outside or the inside of the curve?

I need to find an alternative to the dealership for routine maintenance

As a Died in the Wool DIYer I have found we always think dealer prices are too high, which is why we became DIY to begin with. Oh, that, and besides liking to do it.

RTL - brake pad replacement intervals. Just replaced my pads at 21,000 miles. Is this a fair mileage?

My belt started shedding teeth at a mileage in the high 70's, I don't remember exactly what now. I found a used one on eBay with only 20 something thousand and it has worked great so far (about 5000) so far.

I need to find an alternative to the dealership for routine maintenance

Many of us, for one reason or another, find ourselves aging out of the DIY Spyder maintenance business. Unfortunately we will be facing the choice of paying the price or hanging up the helmet. If possible, maybe you can spread the work out and do one job at a time? Or maybe teach an interested...

It was time… I've Hung up my Helmet!

Vader, it has been a pleasure to know you a have you share some of you story help on some of the Spyder problems on this Forum. I hope it is only riding part you are giving up and not your participation in Spyderlovers. We hope to hear of your experiences as you go forward Spyderless. Goodluck...

Newbie asking for feedback and advice - Any thoughts or advice regarding buying a 2011 RT-S? What are the most popular tires for it?

I have a 2012 with 81,000 miles. It runs fine, tho I am having a starting issue I can't figure out. No Can Am dealer will work on it so I found an independent shop that says he will. We will see. If you can't do your own maintenance work, stay away. I run Coopers on the front and a Kumho on the...

The Spyder is certainly not a Honda - but the reliability sure would be nice! Still not switching tho!!

Vito, try adding just a little slack back in until it locks in place.

    New old member

Hi JBLK, welcome back. I will be 80 in August, still riding a 2012 RT. Lots of fun. Came from 50 years on 2 wheels, same reasons you did.

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

The oil I use does shear down to 20w in 5000 miles but then I change it at 4500 miles. This is up from every 3000 miles back in the old 2 wheels days, which was up from every 1000 miles originally, and that was on a motorcycle with separate trans but no filter. We have come a long way baby.

2012 RT SE5 - any suggestions on where to get floorboards to replace the front pegs?

Look on ebay and see if you can find somebody with a set of Seal Floorboards. They bolted on to the stock foot pegs and would fit anything from a 2010 to a 2017. The company is shut down now and I am pretty sure the owner has passed away. I have had mine for 10 years and really like them. My...

After 3 years of planning, I am riding Route 66 starting June 8

Another thought - if your route is not to set stop for lunch or at least a few minutes look around at Clines Corners in New Mexico, you should. It has been a Route 66 landmark for many years, one that survived the interstate shift. Still looks almost the same. I was there in 2019 and it was just...

Is the Ultimate Seat truly worth it for the 2023 F3 limited.

If you want a less costly avenue to go down this has worked for me for over 60,000 miles. Contact Dave at motorcycledave.com and talk to him about his hospital grade gel seat pad. You install it yourself under the upholstery. Total cost including an air staple gun was around $120.00. If you...

My 2012 Spyder RT turns over once then resets

So Peter, if I understand you are you saying that with a bad battery in the circuit vs a low charge battery one of those booster packs is not going to start it either?

    Something new in helmets!

I really like the idea. If the face shield flips up, that would solve the opening problem for me. Looks like carbon fiber, so should be light.

Large Power Sport Dealer ditches Spyders

Karl Malone Power Sports in Provo discontinued Spyders as of Jan1 2026. They were not that great in the service dept anyway as far as I could tell. I don't know about the other Karl Malone dealerships around Utah, probably should call.
