• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Request for advice for a dealer in the Seattle or Vancouver area

I’m returning from an Alaska adventure and need an oil change and rear tire replacement. I’m approaching 12,000 miles on a Michelin and would like to keep using a car tire. I would appreciate recommendations for services for my 2014 RT-S in the Seattle, WA and Vancouver, BC area. Spyder has...

    Extra drive belt storage

I’m leaving Nashville in early May for Alaska, with plans to ride Dalton and Top of the World gravel roads. I’ve added a missing belt guard, air bag protection, bump skid and using car tires. Just in case I’m packing an extra drive belt. Has anyone discovered a place other than the 4 luggage...

    Air bag armour

I just finished installing Doc's air bag armour and really glad I have this behind me. Fortunately there was just a little dust below mine but its usefulness will come next year when I attempt the Dalton Highway. Doc's video on installation was essential but I didn't need to remove my belt...

    Prudhoe Bay Alaska in 2019

I'm just starting to plan a trip with my brother to Alaska next year and including the Haul Road up to Prudhoe Bay. I'd like to request advice from those of you with this experience. I have a relatively new Yokohama on the rear and Michelin on the front, 22,000 on bike, 17k by me. 1) Did you...

    Headlight replacement

I just replaced my OEM halogen headlights with Sylvania Silverstar halogen 9005's at a cost of about $30. I considered LEDs but the $95 cost stood in the way. Was this a mistake?

    Ignition module trouble

I've just had my first encounter with the ignition module in my 2014 RT-S. I've read you just need to keep trying and this did work after about an hour. I'm in Hammondsport, NY for a classic bike show this weekend. Spyder dealers I've passed coming down from Niagara Falls do not stock this...

    Laser alignment

Is it easy to replace a rear tire and keep a laser alignment? I have about 3,000 miles left on my second Kenda, should I get an alignment now or wait for a new rear tire?

    Vent vs air wings

Are there any scientific studies comparing windshield vents with air wings, such as the BakerBuilt ones. I suspect the air wings move a good more air, but do vents do a good enough job. I should have posted this earlier, I just added a Saber Honda 1500 Goldwing vent into the windshield on my...

    Rear brake pads

I am attempting to install new EBC brake pads on the rear of my 2014 RT-S SE6 and appear to be unable to compress the pads enough to slide onto the disk. I have a little over 15,000 miles on it and the outside pad was worn out and the inside with more than 1/2 pad remaining. I have the front cap...

    Orange screen

I have a 2014 RTS SE6. Two days ago I had an orange screen at startup that lasted about 5 miles. Yesterday it lasted about 25 miles. The morning about 50 miles. I'm in New Mexico and not close to a dealer. I had some rain with the key in is the only thing outside the normal. Should I head for...

    Bonneville Speed Week

I'm heading out from Nashville on Sunday, July 31 for my brother's place in Prescott, AZ, then we will ride to the salt flats west of Salt Lake City for Bonneville Speed Week, then back across to arrive in Nashville on Aug. 23. This is my first long trip, about 5,000 miles, on my recently...

    What are normal engine sounds

I've just purchased a 2014 RT-S three days ago, and now noticing a low volume siren type sound at idle. Is this normal or something I need to have looked into?
