• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Brightsides made in China?

I've been eyeballing these Brightsides for ever and finally broke down to buying them since I will be tearing the bike apart to redo the exaust gaskets and installing the remaining heat shield / air dam. I ordered them (front and back) from Custom Dynamics and only to receive them both labeled...

Weak battery causing VSS and ABS errors

I knew I have a weak battery when I put my Spyder in the basement this past fall. I bought the Oddyssey 680 gel battery per recommendation from this site but have yet to put it in since the old battery still have enough juice to power the lights so I can test the new ones I am installing...

    Instead of canisterectomy I tried

I did my DPS update last fall and missed the update to the update (2nd one) by about a week. It ran fine for a few times after that in fall temperature and soon after I put it away for the winter. This spring Spyder ran fine when it was cold but once it gets into its normal "hot" running temp...

    Header Pipe Heat Shield

I am considering adding heat shield to the header pipes to reduce temp under the seat. I know most of you have used the tape wrap method but I would like to know if anyone here have tried the clamp on shield (see pic). It seems to be easier to install yet still be able to reduce the compartment...

I think I sold a Spyder on my first day out

I was at a hardware store picking up some longer stainless screws for my plate relo project when a rider pulled off the road into the lot just to chat about the Spyder. He was really interested in the 3-wheel setup and after answering all his questions, he said he is going to get one soon.:2thumbs:

BRP's chat - What a waste of my time

I sat in on the other forum's live chat with BRP last night and walked away early totally disgusted. When confronted with issues and problems, they just cut-n-paste in a company line of contacting dealer service manager. Not a thread of concern or willingness to go above and beyond...

    How all this begin

What is the best way to ...

I am cutting the rear fender to eliminate the plate holder and light assembly. There is a pretty substantial piece of steel plate underneath and I would like to know what is the best way for me to cut that. I am thinking about using a hand held electrical jig saw with a steel cutting blade...

Givi mount onto BRP sport rack?

I was reading the spec on the GIVI-USA site and it says that their Spyder mount requires you to drill into the rear fairing. Well, since I got the sport rack / back rest option, there ain't no fairing to drill into anymore. So in order to mount an E52, I am looking to put a Givi Monokey mount...
