• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Goodbye F3L....

Yesterday I had to say goodbye to my 2020 F3L. It has been a great relationship but developments at home require that I stay around and no more multi-day trips. And I entrusted it to a good home, I'm sure. Old Timer knows his way around a motorcycle (even though they were mostly two-wheeled...

Madstad windshield for Ltd - close to perfect for me!

I just installed a 20" clear on my 2020 F3L and took it for a cruise. It is as close to perfect as I can expect (I'm 5'10") at the lowest and 'most vertical' position. If I were riding with my Airhawk, I might want to move it up a little but now I'm looking over the top just as I like. In TX...

    States ridden map and reality

Last year I expanded my 'States Ridden' map to the east from New Mexico. This year I expanded it north and a little west to include several more states including Alaska. I swore I was done with 'long rides' after this year but.....I was looking at my map and realized that I should add Arizona...

Leaky brake master cylinder - any 'easy fixes' or ideas?

Whilst traveling back from AK, I suddenly got a brake failure warning "low fluid level." Sure enough, the rearmost reservoir was down to almost empty (no air in the lines though!) I kept it up by adding a small amount every other day until I got home. Checking underneath I find that the boot...

Anyone else run into Side case/muffler interference? Any fixes?

I removed the muffler to change the rear tire, put it back and never gave it another thought. UNTIL I opened the right side case and the rear hinge popped loose. I first thought it was broken until I removed the 'stay' and the front hinge also popped out. So now I see that the muffler...

What's with the Multiple warning lights after belt alignment?

No, I didn't search for this, too many 'moving parts!' I did a simple 1/4 or so turn on the right adjuster and now I have the following 'faults:' Check engine light ABS light parking brake will not work with engine running/light will not go off (brake works ok with engine off but light stays...

Rear tire change, unable to get caliper back on

2021 F3Limited I've changed a lot of tires and have had a bit of trouble with some getting the brake pads back over the rotor on some. But I've never had one that I could NOT get back on regardless of what I did. I even bought a 'piston retractor' tool. The pads just will not part enough...

Heated OEM grips on F3 LTD do just barely - anyone replaced with A/mkt?

I've had heated grips on several bikes, some I installed and two factory (Yamaha FJR, BMW RT). They all worked to various degrees (pun intended) but all did the job. The ones on my F3 do not. It is not that cold yet in the NM mountains but winter is coming as is a trip to AK next year. And I...

Anyone put a ShowChrome Rear Trunk Rack on an F3 Ltd?

Just wondering if anyone has mounted one of these on their F3Ltd? It says it mounts to the OEM rack mounting points IF replacing a factory rack. My Ltd does not have a rack and I'm looking at one to carry a light but bulky sleeping bag (it will fit in the trunk but then no place for my...

    "Been there maps"

This is a general Spyder question: What is the general consensus concerning what the maps in signatures actually mean? For example, my map shows all 49 states that I rode a (two wheel) motorcycle to/in while another ryder told me his map ON THIS Forum shows states he rode his Spyder to/in. My...

    2020 F3 Ltd Fuel Economy

With just over 1100 miles, I took it on a ride Sunday with my wife, about 120 miles. This was through the mountains, lots of 4th and 5th gear corners and a equal amount of 6th gear straights. When I checked the MPG's today, it showed 48.9 MPG for the trip/tank. Don't get me wrong, I'm not...

Pairing a Sena SM10 with F3 Ltd audio

OK, before someone flames me for not searching, I did look and the most recent info I found was 4 years old. I have to assume something has changed as that said the 'radio' did not have Bluetooth capabilities. I'm pretty sure the 2020 does as the settings are there to 'Add Helmet.' However...

New F3 Limited, floor board issue

I rode my 2020 F3 Limited home yesterday, 180 miles (temps hit 113 at one point) and all was good but.... I'd like to move the floorboards back a bit. Looks easy enough on the left side but I don't see any adjustment for the brake rod on the right. UNLESS moving it forward, then maybe. Any...

    Moving up?

Well it seems like a move up anyway....I am trading my 2009 FJR1300AE with 96000 miles and my 2019 Ryker Rally with 4200 miles in on a 2020 F3 Limited. The FJR has become too heavy for my old legs and I've got a lot of good out of it. The Ryker, on the other hand, was a blast! But my wife has...

    Looking for an RT

Howdy, I currently ride a Ryker Ralley but am seriously considering moving up to an RT. So the question is, which year (I don't think I can afford a 2020 model). When did they move from V-twin to tripple? I found a 2012 relatively close but it is a bit high, I think, at $13,000. And it is...

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Just over 1,000 miles on it now and.... The Good: Plenty of power, simple, light, fun, inexpensive (relatively), easy to customize, lots of options The Bad: Susectible to wind, rough roads, pot holes Poor owner's manual (if you don't know how to ride a MC, take a class); written in Canadian...

    Removing body panels? Be careful....

So you want to see what's under those panels? I know I do. BUT before you start removing stuff and get heavy handed because something does not want to come loose, check out this place and see how much it will cost you if you break something: https://www.canampartshouse.com/ For example...

    Fun? Well, yes but....

I have almost 600 miles on my Rally now and it is fun! BUT today I rode my Vespa GTS300ie Super to work. Now I have to say the Vespa is MORE FUN. Yep, more fun than the Ryker. Why? First of all, the advantages of the Ryker over the Vespa: Three wheel stability (at my advanced age this is...
