• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Time to put the old Hendle back on my wife's RS

The packing was used up on my wife's RS Hendle muffler. The bike was popping from time to time and and getting kind of 'throaty'. So I put the stock muffler back on. I need to repack the Hendle now and I have been looking at the various vendors for the material. Anyone have a favorite? As far...

So, How ya'll doing out there in Spyder land?

After a few years of just maintaining my wife's Spyder along with a couple of motorcycles, my enthusiasm for my wife's RS is back. In the year 2010 we bought an RT because I was having an issue holding her up on my bike (due to a peg leg and a worn out knee on the other side). The down side was...

    media coverage

As an avid long time reader of Cycle World magazine, I felt I had to write them after reading their 'long term test' of an RT. They actually posted my letter, and a picture of the new bright red RT. I don't know if anyone else wrote them, but I think it will be hard to get a fair shake for our...

Another reason Harley riders get a bad rap

A few weeks ago, we discovered another Spyderlover with a RT just like ours living not far away. :2excited: With the weather forecast threatening that the rain is on it's way, we've been getting in as much ryding as we can. Last weekend, we rode to a Bigfoot get together a couple hours a way...

    Seal Floorboards

When I heard about Seal Floorboards, Vaughn and I were really curious. We were glad when 8Legs posted pics after having them installed on his RT. We contacted John and he said he was planning a trip and would be heading South on I-5 right past our place. So, when he offered to stop by so we...

    KewlMetal motor mounts cracked

Vaughn is out in the garage changing oil on the RT and just noticed a crack in the KewlMetal mounts. The history: when we bought the RT back in March, the mounts were recommended and installed by the dealer when we first bought the RT for the Kuryakin (sp?) highway pegs. Unfortunately the...

    T-boned RT

Wow what a way to end a vacation! :yikes: We were just heading back into town and stopped to gas up when a Yukon XL backed into the right forward side of the RT, bending the fender struts and pushing the fender way back over the tire . . . . . and their trailer ball hitch leaving a big dent in...

    Checking your Spyder's oil

Okay, so how often do you check the oil on your Spyder? Have you ever checked it to find NO oil registering on the dipstick? While touring on the RT through Lassen last week, we had the 'check oil' light flash on and go out again instantly. :yikes: No codes displayed when we started it up...

Waterproof shades for RT & RS

This past week during our vacation, we met up with a lot of bikers on the road. A number of them are using covers made by CycleShade.com and they look very convenient to pack and easy to use (not like the bulky BRP covers). I emailed CycleShade and they recommended for the RT the full cover...

RT flashes a Check Transmission warning light

I was going down the freeway after passing a couple semitrucks doing about 75-80 mph :2thumbs: and was back running about 70-75 in the right lane, when I noticed a red idiot light come on. Before I could read it, it went off, but then the panel lit up orange with the 'check transmission'...

10,000 miles in 5 months on RT

All this talk about Spyderlovers being so negative..... we wanted to add some positive input:  Vaughn and I want tell the world that we just turned 10,000 miles on the RT in 5 months. Aside from the routine 'stuff' we have had no problems and the ryde just keeps getting better...

    Our first ever Spyder sighting

Just had my first Spyder sighting EVER . . . We live in Grants Pass, Oregon, about 1/2 mile from Interstate 5 and have NEVER seen another Spyder on the road . . . until today. When I got off the freeway, I spotted that beautiful red fender of another red RS waiting to turn left at the...

Lost antenna . . . is it necessary to replace?

Yesterday we noticed that somewhere along the way, the antenna on the RT disappeared :yikes: Since we never listen to the radio, we're wondering if it is necessary to replace it? If it is not, we'll need to find a plug for the hole where it used to be . . . . If it is necessary, we'll...

    Recurring handling problem with Spyder

Here's an email I received this morning from Vaughn when he first arrived at work. Just wondering if anyone else is having this same problem: well I made it here . . . . the spyder was handling really weird on the way to work . . . . . I couldn't hardly get it to turn into the driveway at...

Outta gas! MPG for our RS & RT

Last Saturday we took the RT and RS for a ryde through the Smith River Canyon to Crescent City. It was the first time I'd done the ryde with the KewlMetal risers. Wow! Was it fun! :2thumbs: We gassed up in Hiouchi, California, and the station there has that awkward 'elephant nose' vapor...

    Owners Packet -- we're official!

We just received our Owners Pack for the RT with membership card & number . . . so now we're official! The packet came with some literature, a pic of the RT with Vaughn's name on it, an official patch and Owners Pin. When we logged in with our membership number there was a place to "Get My...

One bad thing about the new Corbin seat

Yesterday we took a ryde over the hill to Happy Camp, CA, the home of Big Foot. It just so happened that's where the RT odometer rolled over 5,000 miles. It was such an awesome day and since it was our first 2-up ryde after the RT's 'annual service' and installing the new Corbin seat, we...
