• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I posted on the other GS/RS thread before, but now we're getting to technical stuff, so I moved here... :) 2011 RS SE5. Check transmission message still comes on with check engine light. I tried several times to get a code out of it. Nothing!!! Nada!!! Took it for a short spin (maybe half...

    Check Transmission

Yeah, this oldie, but goodie. About a week ago, I was riding home from work. Shifted into 5th when I shouldn't have. The bike went back down into 4th (a little bit roughly). About 5-8 minutes later, I got the dreaded check engine light and check transmission scrolling across the screen. I...

    Fleas and Ticks

I know a lot of us on here own dogs. Mine just tested positive for Lyme disease this week. He has no symptoms, and according to the vet, 90% of the dogs that have it show no symptoms. Rocky had to go for his annual appointment, and they did the blood work. It came out a "very weak positive"...

Still Having a Parking Brake Issue

:mad::mad: It was gripping good last night. Rode to work this morning, it seemed fine. Put it in the garage this afternoon, the pedal clicks like it should (4 times), but the bike still rolls..... Mine is a 2011 RS SE5 with the parking brake pulley. I had pulled that off last night...

NOT A Happy Camper Right Now!!!

I just came on here to vent. I pulled all the left side tupperware off so I could scope out and hopefully fix my parking brake issue. Discovered the pin that holds the little lever in place almost all the way out!!!! Tried to put it back in, and the whole little assembly fell to the ground...

I keep getting ye olde "hot foot" on the right side. Already have the Spyderpops stuff installed, but it's still toasty there!!! Thinking about removing the splash pans so the heat has another place to go. Also considering highway pegs. Any thoughts?? It's in the mid 80's and fairly humid...

    Oil Change Question

I'm going to be attempting my first oil change on my Spyder soon. Do I need to put the bike onto jack stands to do this, or will the garage floor do?? I realize I will have more hand room underneath if it's on stands, so this is really more of a survey as to what other folks do!!!

Like A Kid In A Candy Store...

Yeah, that was me today!!! Went to the store to get the oil for my first ever DIY oil change. I was expecting to spend $40-$60 bucks (I hadn't priced it out, but knew I had to pay for the oil either way). Yeah.....that was a $170 trip!!! Get the gloves!!! Your good leather ones took a...

    Spyder Just Died

As I pulled up into my driveway, thank God!!! I'm thinking it needs an oil change, as one hasn't been done in a couple of years. No funny noises, no grinding, etc. Poor thing just shut off while in 2nd gear. I still have electrical, but it won't start again. Mind you, this was after a 3...

    A Big Thank You

To all the folks on here for putting out all the handy-dandy tips and fix-it tricks!!! I kept getting the dreaded "BRAKE FAILURE" code at the end of last year. Did a little reading here and bought some brake fluid. Topped off the reservoir, added air to the tires, and went on my first ryde...

    Something Different....

So, I'm on the way home from picking up some meds for the dog and notice my front right (as you are sitting on the Spyder) fender is shaking something awful. It's been doing this a little bit, but I didn't think anything of it. I look at it, then look at the one on the left for comparison...

I Was All Set To Go For A Ryde Today....

And then I called the vet. My dog Mollie--the one that had leg surgery this year--has a histoma on her face. She's been on antibiotics for 3 weeks now, and steroids for 8 days. It was infected, but the steroids helped clean that up. We were hoping the combo would get rid of the histoma as...
