• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Not a Zumo 665 fan...

Well, a little trouble shooting today instead of calling Garmin... When I use the Zumo's power switch to turn it on (bike off), all is well. XM comes on with no problems. When I then turn on the bike, it continues to work. When the Zumo is off and I turn on the bike key to fire it up (wired...

    Not a Zumo 665 fan...

I know they'll help. I've had GPS III, V, 276, 478 and Rino's. It's just that I don't care for them using me as a beta tester. I had the m/c mount replaced because the xm works fine with the car mount. I starting to think it's firmware/software related on the Zumo itself. I guess I'll see if...

    Not a Zumo 665 fan...

My wife had high expectations for the Zumo 665 on her new Can-Am Spyder. She liked the idea of a waterproof XM capable unit. Unfortunately, in practice, the 665 falls way short. I have experienced nothing but frustration trying to get the unit to work with the Gxm-40 antenna. The Zumo constantly...

    FIRE!!!

Thanks for your service, and sorry about your fire... I just brought my wife's spyder home today after the dealer 600 mile check. ($380!!! OUCH) Anyway, strong smell of gas in garage after I parked it. Don't remember it doing this before... Dealer says they did not change fuel filter or mess...

    Blue Ridge PKWY

Had a Great Time on the Parkway last week! Spend four days in Asheville heading out North and South, making loops back into town. Those NC guys have been trying to keep Hwy 197 South out of Burnsville a secret... ITS OUT!!! (some dirt, though). How we roll from Tampa to NC: PS: Highly recommend...

    The Nanny

How smart is Nanny? I drove my wife's SE5 home from the dealer Friday (solo) after installation of a Hindle exhaust, rear luggage and a passenger backrest. Throttle response was significantly different from what I remembered the last time I drove it. Even with the handlebars straight, it...

Deals Gap videos with the HD GoPro

I don't know why the cars were getting out of my way this trip, most of the time they don't. :gaah: Maybe they heard that Kewlmetal intake on their butt. :D Nice vid, Lamont, I was thinking the same thing! I thought maybe you had blue flashers on the front or something? The cages never get...

    INTERCOMS

My wife and I are coming off Goldwings, so we are a little spoiled in the intercom department... She is picking up a 09 RS this weekend and I traded my Wing on a F800GS. We used to do bike to bike with Rino FMRS radios, which work terrific, but I was striking out trying to interface with the...

    Weight Distribution?

Thanks Lamont, So, you're saying an RS at 799 lbs w/ 220 lb rider = 1019 gross wt. Minus 640 lbs for front wheels leaves 379 lbs for the rear? If so it would appear the distribution is about 60/40 front to rear. Sounds reasonable to me! Thanks! Lance

    Weight Distribution?

Hi all... First post on Spyderlovers! My wife is getting a 09 SE with electronic shift this weekend. At some point I will have to trailer the bike on our flatbed car hauler. For purposes of determining the correct hitch weight, does anyone know about what the weight distribution is for the...
