• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just bought a 'new to me' 2024 RTL.

Congratulations and welcome aboard! Just making sure you've seen this thread: https://www.spyderlovers.com/threads/dos-do-nots-for-new-spyder-owners.41346/ You'll scat around the curves once you get a feel for the bike. Lean forward and into the turn like you mean it, riding these things is...

Passenger foot pegs won’t stay vertical - any suggestions to keep them up?

^^Just a follow up on the shims mentioned above, we happened to have some in the spare washer bin, so I gave them a whirl. After 30 miles, including our bumpy gravel driveway, they haven't budged. We'll see how it goes over time. I added a shim to one side of each peg, so I can add the others if...

Looking to install Cameras - where can I find a wire that comes on with the key on?

And if it's like my F3, look under the left side access panel, the wires are tagged "customer accessory" You may have to take off the panel below it to get them out of the bundle, mine were zipped tied tight. Sarah

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I took the OEM belt tensioner off the F3S. Per the parts diagrams it looks like the factory started installing them in '19. I rode about 30 miles at varying speeds, got up to 85 for a stretch a couple of times and never felt any troublesome vibration. I think I'll be fine without it. One...

What antifreeze are you using in your Ryker Sport Ace 900?

Good job! Yep, I've got toilet paper rolls stashed in the house, in the garage... I keep my tools in the frunk and drop my wrenches into an old sock that I can use as a shop rag. The shortened toilet paper roll pushes over it just like a napkin ring, everything stays tidy and the ring keeps...

What antifreeze are you using in your Ryker Sport Ace 900?

If it just needs a little bit you might consider a shot of distilled water to bring it up to the line. Sarah

Are you happy with your aftermarket CAR tires?

There are already complaints about the rear tire on the Canyon having too little grip. It'll be interesting to see what develops. Sarah

New Coolant will not circulate after refill, completing successful flush and change - anyone else? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

Yep, I'll do my best to remember that. Thanks again for posting your experience. Sarah

New Coolant will not circulate after refill, completing successful flush and change - anyone else? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

Ugh! I was thinking I might go the route John mentioned: "The BMW K1200LT was notorious for getting a big bubble of air trapped if you filled it too fast. The best defense is to know the capacity of the system and measure that amount out first before you start filling. If it all goes in with...

What antifreeze are you using in your Ryker Sport Ace 900?

Mine too. Can we trust the "All color compatible" stuff when it's time to change it out? Sarah

New Coolant will not circulate after refill, completing successful flush and change - anyone else? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

I sure do appreciate this thread. I have very little experience with water-cooled bikes so I feel a bit of air bubble anxiety. Sarah

Battery/Starting slow spin - is this common & why doesn't it start like a normal motorcycle?

I would have done the same, Peder. Or have them knock off enough that I could buy the battery myself. So BRP is still cheaping out on us. The bean counters need their pay docked every time a bad battery report comes in. Sarah

Would you pay full price on a '25 F3S this late in the year?

I know we should be responsible with our money and all, but there's nice fall riding weather just around the corner. Good luck tomorrow Donk, keep us posted. Sarah

Has anyone modified the brake pedal to make it easier to use?

Here's a link to the adjustable brake rod Metalman, in case it would be helpful to you: https://spyderextras.com/shop/details/232/SPYDER-EXTRAS-RT-2020-ADJUSTABLE-BRAKE-ROD-KIT-SRT-2020BROD I have one on my F3S, it works slick as a ribbon. Sarah

Battery/Starting slow spin - is this common & why doesn't it start like a normal motorcycle?

PURPLEON3, I'll bet the factory battery in your '18 was a Yuasa. That's what all the major manufacturers used until Covid caused supply problems. BRP just happened to choose the poorest quality substitute. I'd be interested to know what they're putting into the new bikes these days. Sarah
