• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone know of a Rear Rack compatible with F3S Pillion Backrest?

If you decide to consider North American sources, here's the rack I bought from a great company in Quebec, Canada. This definitely works with the OEM passenger backrest and Shad bags on my F3-S. https://www.canamspyderaccessories.com/f3-f3s-2015-and-up-spyder-full-rear-shelf-aluminium/ Ps...

Do you remove your Airhawk seat pad when you leave your Spyder parked?

Yeah, I do. Mine isn't strapped to the seat, so I simply take it off and toss it in my saddlebags. Out of sight, out of mind to the light-fingered. Had someone filch my sheepskin seat pad some years ago, right off my bike in my office parking lot.

Jury is still out on my new Airhawk - how hard is it to find the sweet spot?

This advice ^^ is spot on. I find it easier to adjust an AirHawk cushion on a hard and flat seat, such as a kitchen chair or metal folding chair. As Pete advises, let out enough air so that your "sitz bones" actually touch the hard surface underneath you. Then transfer the cushion to your bike...

    Riding Gear Poll

+1. I've had friends (and my husband) tell me that now I'm riding on 3, I can stop wearing so much safety gear. But when I've done it, it just doesn't feel 'right' to me. I guess the ATGATT approach is too much ingrained in me to switch, except very occasionally.

48 States in 27 Days at Age 84

You get Good Guy Points for that in my book, John. Many folks would have skipped the tip, despite that what happened wasn't the waitress's fault. I'm enjoying your travelogue very much. Thank you for taking the time and effort to share it with us.

Looking for a quick release strap for a modular helmet - any ideas?

This is the model of add-on quick release buckle I have used. https://www.motorcyclegear.com/parts/aaron's_garage/handy/echo_/quick_release_buckle.html Very sturdy -- in fact, it's pretty stiff until you use it awhile. But it works fine, with no cutting required.

Anyone else's F3-T rear seat jammed? Any ideas/advice?

Yes, this happens occasionally to my husband's F3T. We haven't found a solution to it yet, either. It seems to come and go!

Has Anyone Gone Back to 2 Wheels

Overall, I loved it. Truly loved it. The fact that I could override gear choices with the paddle shifter gave me most of the control I was used to. It took me a little re-learning to master slow speed maneuvers without a clutch to slip (the answer, of course, is to rely on the rear brake), but...

Has Anyone Gone Back to 2 Wheels

Just to let you know, Bob, the DCT shift pattern is the opposite of that on the Can-Am. Two years after switching to the Spyder, I still sometimes flash back to my 2014 CTX700ND and upshift when I mean to downshift. ;) Just takes practice.

Is SHAD Top Master compatible with OEM SHAD side case racks?

Rick, I happened to already own both an SH42 and an SH46. They share the same universal mounting base. I swap boxes depending on how much space I need, or leave them off altogether. I could wish there were a few more holes cut in the rack, through which I could have threaded mounting bolts. My...

Is SHAD Top Master compatible with OEM SHAD side case racks?

I also have an F3-S, to which I have added the OEM Shad side cases, and a Shad top case mounted to this rack: https://www.canamspyderaccessories.com/f3-f3s-2015-and-up-spyder-full-rear-shelf-aluminium/ While this isn't a system, it holds a ton of gear.

Huge thanks to Netzley for deactivating DESS!

Thanks so much for sharing this info, Wmoater. I am planning to attend SpyderQuest in September, and the Netzley team will be there. My husband and I are now planning to have them deactivate the doggone DESS on both of our Spyders!

Any good Mechanics and/or Service Centers in New England?

Not sure where in Connecticut you may be ... but if in the western part, you could consider Arctic Adventures in Rosendale (mid-Hudson Valley), New York.

    Spyder is out of Hibernation

Same this afternoon, over here in New York's Catskill Mountains. Just a 45 mile loop to dust off the muscle memory and make sure the machine feels solid. Ahhhhh! :2thumbs:

Spyderquest 2023 scheduled for September 6-10, in Queensbury NY.

It's a tremendous event. The group that puts it together does a phenomenal job accommodating so many participants. I've attended the last 2 years (which is about how long I've had a Spyder) and enjoyed it enormously. See you in September!

What F3 air deflectors work the best.

I picked up a set of Baker Built "leg wings" from a member here, and I'm pleased with the improved air management on my F3-S.
