• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So I get the notice about the safety recall, Call my friendly local dealer, parts on order.I call 2 wks later still on order. finally they are in make an appt. for that and the 12,000 mi.service.
Service tells me $600. Ok. Next day they call and said that price is wrong, it is $900. $1200 with the valves. (aren't they hydraulic?) Told them I will wait until 24,000 mi. for the valves. Well they have had it for 10 days now.
After 5 days I call and I am told that they are waiting for the rear wheel bearings. Stupidly, I ask if they were they bad. The gentleman says that no it is part of the service.
So My question is these Canadians cannot come up with a wheel bearing that will last more than 12,000 miles?
WHAT A JOKE!!

The valves are not hydraulic, That said at 12,000 miles in most dealers opinion adjustment isn't necessary.
The 900$ sounds high, but i guess they can charge whatever the traffic can bare.
Maybe another dealer is in your future.:dontknow:

IMO, this dealer may be either ultra conservative, or is just trying to gouge you. The BRP maintenance schedule (in your manual) is quite conservative, and does call for a valve check at 6,000 miles and every 12K after that, as well as rear wheel bearing inspection (and replacement if necessary) every 12,000. How the dealer interprets this is up to them...at the owner's OK. Next time ask up front what is involved, and discuss any concerns before the work is done. What your dealer did is not uncommon.
