• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2011 or 2012 Limited

Thanks for all of you that replied to my post, Goldwing to Spyder... I have pretty much decided on trading the Wing and my V-Strom for a Spyder. Here is my issue, my wife and I both want a white spyder. As we know it has to be a limited. We wanted a RTS automatic, the dealer has a silver, blue and I believe black. They have only one Limited and it is a 2012 so the price difference is huge like $4400! On the 2011 he can save me 2K plus, just don't want the colors.

He says that the Limited sells 3 to 1 better and he runs out every year. Is it worth all the extra money for the limited? If I understand it's the GPS, soft bags, chrome wheels and a seat stitched different. None of this is a requirement for me, but the color is.

Just want to know your thoughts. Thanks

They are both likely to be great rides. In a case like this I ask myself (not others) what I really want -- and then how long I plan to keep it.. If I plan to keep it - say for 5 years I figure I better get what I really want and not be dissatisfied next year or sooner... I take delivery on the 2012 Limited next week although I was tempted a couple of times by the 2011 discounts.

My first motorcycle was a compromise: I chose the bike and my wife chose the color. I REALLY didn't care for the color she chose, and never really, really liked that bike because of it. I suggest you make sure you get a bike you can love ... in all respects.

my two cents

I have a 2010 RT S orbital blue. It came with the smoked chrome wheels, I have added my own gps and mount for less than 280.00 (garmin waterproof for bikes), added the mirror chrome and exhaust chrome. Also I have changed the shocks for the 2011 versions as they are a much better shock. All in all what I have added to mine is very close to the Limited model. The '12 limited has the mirror chrome standard (cost me about 80.00 dollars) they also have the exhaust chrome heat sheild and rear chrome tip that I added to mine (sorry, I don't remember how much the cost was on that, couple of hundred maybe). For me I just can't justify the price for the factory Garmin, limited color and seat, I personally like the smoke chrome wheels on the RT S but the Limited chrome is sharp as well. Lets face it, If you have the money don't let a few hundred dollars keep you from having what you want, otherwise you can get really close to the options on the limited with the RT S for less money. No matter what you chose it is an awesome ride.

2012

You get a new one 2012, you are first owner, latest update and full two years warranty and get colour you want
You get a 2011, it's a bit different and you get colour available
Key is a mileage you gonna chop on it

Keep in mind that most of the serious Ryder's prefer silver:p
