• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2013 RT Limited CB

I have new to me a 2013 RT Limited. I wish to install and use a CB. Any ideas would be appreaciated.

I believe the BRP CB might not be available anymore. Unless someone has one they don't want. Heard it wasn't much good.

I use a Midland Handheld 75-822 with Sena SR10 bluetooth adapter and power it with 4.2 v USB outlet and cig to USB adapter. I also use the Sane PTT button just next to the left hand.

J&M Electronics makes a handle bar mount CB, with intercom, and aux channel for an I-pod, or Mp3 player. Chords run from unit to speakers and microphone inside helmets for intercom, and CB radio.

Search the forum and you'll find all kinds of discussion. Be aware that if you go with the J&M system or the Sena interface for a handheld, which may be your best option, you cannot integrate into onboard audio. Your best bet may be to use the Sena system for CB and the one to convert onboard audio to Bluetooth and go with a BT helmet headset. In short, there is no one simple answer for what you may want to do. Do a search for Bluetooth here and your eyes will glaze over with all the discussion there has been.

The BRP CB does work. I have one, but you may have a problem finding one. BRP dropped CB with the 2018 model.

Contact Motorcycle Dave. He can explain some of the options for you.

I have some experience with the BRP CB. I owned one. IMO, they are marginal at best, almost useless. I am not aware of any BRP technician that knows how to correctly install and set one up. If there is ANY problem with the CB there is no place to get knowledgeable help. And, if you can find a BRP CB, they are usually WAY over priced Ps.O.S. I think you are much better off contacting MotorcycleDave or J&M and going with aftermarket products. Good luck..... Jim
