• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RT SM6 Question

Has anyone purchased a new 2014 RT with the manual transmission? If so, are the shifting points ( the RPMs) the same as the automatic? I am also interested in knowing how you like it. Thanks.

Shifting is shifting...manual or electric as far as rpm is concerned. The 2014 RT is no longer subject tpo the minimum shift points the prior SE had, and that doesn't matter for the SM anyway. Keep it in the peak power/torque range for best performance, or put it in ECO mode and shift when it tells you to. There are no rules or restrictions except not to exceed the redline and not to lug the engine to the point that it labors or chatters. You have a wide rpm range to work with on the 2014 RT, so just ride it and have fun. Your butt will tell you when you need to shift up or down.

SpyderAnn's SM6

She loves it! She thinks hers was the first manual shift 14 off the line. Seems to go pretty fast, but she only has had it a week. So about 700 miles! She will let it rip shortly.....!

It sounds as if her "Tire Allowance", may need some adjustments! :D :2thumbs:

I love it! I had issues with the clutch on the 2013 (among other things LOL) but this one is great. Around here we have a lot of secondary roads with 45 mph speed limit and on the SE I would upshift to 6th gear but on the SM I usually stop at 4th gear. I haven't had much of an opportunity to ride it here last week so I don't know how that will affect my gas mileage. I got great mileage on my trip to CA last weekend and we head out to northern CA on Friday.

To correct my lovely husband, I don't think I had the first SM off the line but I probably was the 1st to take delivery of one.

:2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs: An additional benefit of having the SM is it will definitely be easier to pick your Spyder out of a parking lot full of Spyders with the extra lever and pedal!

"Lovely"?
I'd have thought:
"Overly Handsome"
"Paragon of Masculinity"
"Wizard with Wrenches"
or even:
"Intelligent"

(Joe; Us guys have to stick together!)

I got 33.7 on the trip.
