• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RTS

Went in to Wichita stoped at Marine World and looked at a new 2014 RTS that is silver. I started the engine and it sounded like it had a lot of power, seat and back rest were nice they said that the throttle was not quick from a stop, to save tires.

Back in 2008 &2009, Canam used to advertise that the RS would do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, anybody know what the 2014 RT will do this in. This will give us an idea how quick it is off the line. This will not matter to some, but for others it will.

I know that I have read at least 1 or 2 reviews that support that statement. I would like to see a real world comparison between the two engines for 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, roll on, etc. I bet that the roll on acceleration is probably where the difference would be most noticeable on the 2014.

I can tell you for a fact that off the line RT to RT it's a big difference. On my RT's when you hit the gas from a stop to shoot across traffic the RT will fall on it's face for just a sec, the 1330 just goes as you would expect any bike to. It was the first thing Fred Rau and I noticed during our testing.

im saying for sure the 2014 is faster off the line than my 2013,i hate tospinn the back wheel so i try hard not too and my frist ride on the 2014 i spun the wheel its just so much moore tq,and i know about tq my triumph rocket has 142 ft of tq,now thats tq in a big way for a motorcycle.

Like others have already said it is the first thing I noticed when I got to take one out for a test ride. The second thing I noticed is how much torque the new motor has and it is fast as well.

:agree:

Sounds like a Spyderfest competition could be brewing here. Do you want to share in the bookie operation Bob?

But how much of a cut will we need to give to the house?

Well; you've got the single pipe coming off of the header... That makes the plumbing easier to figure out!
My guess is that it would be a pwerful addition to the mill. the bottom end is already stronger than the twin; so anything lost to turbo lag might not even be missed...
My only concern; the low rpm redline.

I was at my dealer last Friday ordering some parts and they didn't have any 2014s in yet. They will be getting a demo, so when I pick the parts up, I'm going to get on the list for a demo ride. I think the best comparison will be riding them back to back.

Out of curiosity, is that on an SE5? Is that typical? I have an SM5.

2014 RT

I'm going to buy a new 2014 RT in April but the engine and trans. being a new design has me worried. Can anyone tell if there any big problems yet on the new RT model!
