• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Housekeeping post that appears in every Ad:

Please make sure that you, both sellers and potential buyers, read and follow the directions in the READ FIRST! Sticky (& all the posts in that thread) that's found at the top of this forum section and linked below:

https://www.spyderlovers.com/threads/read-first-how-to-use-the-for-sale-by-owner-sub-forum.146354/

paying particular heed to:
  • the need for regular posts from you, adding to the thread (& not just edits of the first post!) in order to keep the Ad alive;
  • if you add any pics (and you really should, if you want to sell!), the need to insert no more than 6 images per post as thumbnails iaw the 'Please upload, attach, and insert any pics/images as Thumbnails' Sticky, especially if you want everybody to be able to view them/your Ad, leaving at least a - between each image! (Having at least one pic in your opening post of the Ad/thread will mean that your Ad will have the first pic shown in your 1st post here appear on the index page - which helps get viewers to look at what you've got/on offer; and posting an extra pic or two in new posts added to the Ad/thread regularly over the coming weeks/months will also satisfy the first point above ;));
  • do not display personal contact details, unique identifiers, or discuss prices, payment, payment methods, or negotiate at all on the public pages, use the Forum's DM facility to exchange contact details &/or conduct any/all negotiations; and
  • the need to properly finalise the Ad by marking it Sold once you've finished with it, even if you haven't actually 'sold' anything, don't want to sell any more, or just don't need the Ad any longer! ;)
Good Luck with your sale. (y)

You have an exceptionally impressive looking Spyder that should be gone in a flash. My condolences on your need to part with it. Since it is one MY newer than mine, it must be an SE6 model, as BRP introduced the 1330 ACE engine with the six-speed semi-automatic transmission in 2014.

Absolutely correct, it is an SE6. There are times when my mind and fingers don't cooperate with one another, and apparently that was one instance. Thank you for pointing out the error.

Well Spyder enthusiasts, my faithful 2015 RT-S continues to await a new owner. We're in the process of selling our winter home in Texas and moving full time to our home in Maine. We're taking my bride's 2021 Sea to Sky but there's no room in Maine for my Spyder, so here it sits looking for a new person to enjoy it. $12,000 seems a reasonable price but I am open to reasonable offers, as they say.

Not a clue to how talk to you on this site - old rider, brand new here. I wrote you here (and my SC friend as well Carl Malone) and did not hear from you. Good luck. I am buying a Can Am - yours is nice. CaptDaveRetired

Hi @CaptDaveRetired, welcome to posting on the Forum.

If you look at post #2 in this Ad/thread, there's a link to a Sticky thread that you really should read - all sellers and any prospective buyers should, it can actually help you thru the process. I'm sorry it's grown so big and is such a read now, but members keep on asking for more to be included in it! 😣 However, in that Sticky, posters are directed NOT to share any personal identification &/or important detail here on the public pages of the Forum (all such posts will be removed), but rather to use Direct Messages to share that sort of info and conduct any negotiations re buying/selling anything privately, where their info can't be readily accessed by people who you probably don't really want to share it with &/or used for unwanted purposes. And yes, that has and does happen here and on any other social media site, so don't post anything on the public pages you don't want to share with the whole World and every criminal in it! 😖

As for Notifications &/or sending Direct Messages - Look up toward the top right of the page, where your username is. There's a little envelope alongside your username, and a little bell alongside that. If you haven't ever clicked on either, there's probably also a couple of little red squares with a number in each of them - the red squares are called 'Notifications', and they are there to notify you that you've either got a message or someone has 'liked' (or otherwise) one of your posts. You want to click on them both at some stage just to see what's there; and if you ever see one of those red squares/boxes with a number in it, then click on it to read each/any of the messages listed.

If you want to send anyone a DM, simply click on the Avatar above their username alongside any of their posts and then the box in the bottom row of the panel the comes up which says 'Send Direct message' or something similar; or click on that envelope up toward the top right of the page; and then read the content of the pages &/or boxes that come and either click on them &/or enter the necessary details as appropriate (like their username) and follow the directions on the screen to send the message - then watch the little envelope for the little red square with a number in it to appear up in the top right to notify you that there's a message/response. (y)

Good luck, and please remember, if you don't know, you really should just ask, either here in a post, or possibly more preferably, by DM, as those messages are Direct and allow one to one contact without sharing things/info with the rest of World that they probably don't need to know. ;)
