I have seen a lot of threads on windshields but so far the answer is escaping me. I am 6'1"m and I am looking to get the '15 RT limited with the heated comfort seat, which puts the riding position back 2". I definitely want to go with a vented shield but I am not sure where the 23" or 25" shield falls as far as seeing over or seeing through for my height. Can anyone close to my height share their thoughts? Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I have been all over this joint and haven't found a close enough answer. And yes, I realize that i am being very specific. lol

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi, are you planning on getting the BRP vented windshield? I had one and thought it was a waste of money. The stock shield on the 14 & 15 has holes that do a pretty good job of letting some air through. The BRP vented one only allows you to open or close the vent and you can not aim the air flow. I'm 5'10" with long legs and I have the Comfort Seat. I ride with my shield down near the lowest setting as I prefer to look over it rather than through it.

All of the windshields worth the money are aftermarket windshields. Use the stock windshield as your assessment tool - it will either be a 23" or 25", and most likely the 25".
If it's too tall, get a shorter one, if it's too short (like mine was) Look at the F4 +3", which won't be.

I'm 6'3" 276lbs inseam 33". I just installed my new calsci XL and it has been well thus far for me. The extra 6" helped me.

Don't forget; you've got a decent adjustability range for the height of the screen. 
Get the one that you can comfortably see over at the lowest setting, and still be able to raise it up enough to look through it, should the need arise.

I am also 6' - 1" and ride with an Ultimate Tall Boy seat, about 1.5" back from stock. We have been very pleased with the stock 25" vented windshield that came on the RT. I look over it in the down position and through it in the up position. I think you should do some riding on your new RT before you decide. You may be very happy with stock in this case. Are you SURE you want the BRP Comfort seat? They are much harder than the stock seat, I consider my purchase of one as wasted money. The Ultimate works much better for me but some find them too wide at the thighs. Each is different, you need to sit on a few before deciding.

6'2" and have the stock windshield on my 2013 RT LTD . . . I look over the top. With the windshield lowered all the way, the wind just hits the top of my helmet . . . I'm quite happy with the results.

I am 6 foot 1 ish, and I leave the Fat White Chick's windshield up all the time. I get too much buffeting if it is any lower, and I don't have any problems looking through it.
People led talk about needing to see over a windshield. If you can see over it, whatever is coming at you, including stones and large bugs, can reach your head and face.

As Ann said you wont feel any air but that is not the point for me. What the vented shield did was reduce the back pressure on the windshield when all the way up. This reduced significantly the forward and back buffeting in wind (lurching if you will). Prior to getting the vented windshield I ran the stock un-vented down all the time due to the buffeting.
At 6'4" when it is all the way up. I am looking through the top edge a little. Does not bother me.
For me the vented shield was worth it.

You should ride your Spyder for a while to see what does and doesn't work for you. Get the seat to your liking first, then change the windshield. Some seats have you sitting higher or lower,forward or back and may change your relationship to the windshield. Good Luck on your choice.

The vented F4 is much wider than the BRP version. I dumped my vented BRP for the F4, and am very happy with the change. I have no idea why BRP narrowed the vented touring windshield, but they did.
