• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A QUESTION

What have folks been paying for the 14K maintenance, including valve check/adjustment on a 2013 RT? And, any idea what part of the labor charge for this is removal and re-installation of the tupperware? The reason I ask, is that I am having the 14K maintenance done while my RT is in for the recall, and I would like to get and idea of how much this will cost me since BRP is paying for the removal & re-installation of the Tupperware as part of the recall. Any info would be really appreciated.

I am one of those that do not recommend the valve check portion of the service. If you do, add $600 to $800 extra. Labor intensive because of the hours.

My experience: 2008--did it at 12K (recommended at the time). $800 extra--no adjustments needed.

2010: did it at 28K--no adjustments needed. $800 extra. Mechanic failed to replace the gasket. Started leaking oil. They had to re-do the job. That was on their dime.

The new 2014 (1330) do not require valve check maintenance. The consensus is that the valve check on the pre 2014's was a CYA thing for BRP. Have not seen any posts saying valves really needed to be adjusted at 14K.

I am going to wait until at least 50K to do anything on the 2011--if I still have it at that time. Coming up on 20K now and still purring like a kitten.

It's your call and most of all, your money.

As part of my "set screw" warranty repair I decided to have the valves checked. No adjustment was needed. I had already done the oil change and spark plugs/wires. But they flushed the brake fuild and radiator fluid.

Cost was $800.

They said had I not done the other stuff, it would have been $1K.
