• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Airbags in Motorcycle Jackets

Did anyone catch the article about Alpinestars releasing their new Tech-Air Jacket, cordless air bag system for rider protection in a collision? Similar to the Hit-Air system, but with wireless sensors, made to deploy when in an accident. Very cool, and probably expensive, but would save some agony on broken bones for sure... Due to "high side" or "rear end" wrecks with a can am.

Three years ago, this would have potentially reduced my injuries which resulted in12 broken ribs, shattered shoulder blade, two broken vertebrae, punctured lung, and broken shoulder. All done when I high sided on my motorcycle during an emergency stop and was hit by a car. I wish the MSF class would have said these jackets exist lol.

Question: Who has a Hit-Air Jacket, and how does it feel and fit... $600 +/-

i think they are a great idea. you can get a air bag on a goldwing, it goes where the glove box is on the rt. now that is something i would pay for

Good ideas. Does anyone know if these have been tested and the reported on? I only get Rider magazine these days, and have not seen anything there.

I think it was at Spyderquest someone was wearing an "air-bag" vest. It was like tubes that would fill up with air if the rider becomes detached from the bike. I don't know how much it cost or if it works or not.

I went to the website and it says available in Europe in Spring 2015 - so does that mean US DOT hasn't approved it?
