• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Any ideas on what this 2022 S2S thumping on the drive side might be, or what & where to troubleshoot?

While riding with my wife recently, she mentioned that she could feel the left passenger pedal thumping beneath her boot. I hadn’t ever noticed the issue because I’m always in the captain’s seat. I am able to put my left hand on the left passenger pedal while riding and can feel the thumping. It is a rhythmic thumping that increases with speed and decreases when I let off the throttle. There is no such issue on the non-drive side. If anyone has suggestions on what and where to troubleshoot, I’d be very interested in hearing from you. Thanks in advance.

A small screw was thrown upwards and pierced the belt at an angle between the teeth. I used channel locks to twist the belt to expose the inside of the belt and then pushed the sheared metal head out through the top of the belt. Now I'm concerned about the integrity of the belt.

You can't feel it on your foot pegs? Do you hear any clicking?

No sir. The belt tensioner is right behind the passenger foot pedal, which meant that the object thumped right at the pedal with each revolution, but I never noticed it during our rides.

If I had a hole in the belt that would be right where I would want it! Those belts on these bikes are tough as they come and hard to tear, where it's in middle of the belt you may be ok to just watch it for a while if you don't have too much damage on the inside of it. But if it keeps you up at night and you wouldn't take it on a trip, change it out! Glad you found it!!!

The belts have Kevlar inside. You could buy another one for safe keeping storage, have it ready to install if and when integety starts to fade on current belt. I would say if you do installation yourself do that. If you take to dealership, they might not let you bring a belt

If it were mine, I would buff that spot on the top of the belt smooth so that it doesn't affect the belt dampener, your call.

Have you checked your drive belt to see if you might have a stone embedded in it? That could cause the thumping as the stone crosses the front or rear pulley.
Good call @JKMSPYDER !!! I think I’ll replace the tension arm while it’s apart. Thanks for your insights.

My thoughts exactly. It really was in a good spot. I’ll be a bit nervous for a few short trips but if it holds up I’ll keep adding miles. Thank You!

I went to the dealer today to buy some oil and coolant and had the parts guy give me a price and check stock. Phew. $475.00. Kevlar is spendy. I think the belt will fit nicely in my Christmas stocking.

Yep. That’s what I ended up doing. I used tweezers to clean up the blister around the puncture then hit it lightly with the dremel.
