There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. ANY WAY TO REPLACE FRONT TURN SIGNAL BULBS

Memflash

New member
I have a 2013 RTS and I'm just wondering if there is some way to replace the bulb or bulbs in the front turn signal or take the housing apart to add the lighted arrows behind the mirrors? Surely you don't have to buy the whole mirror housing if a bulb goes out. All though that would be a good way to sell expensive parts. There seem to be tabs on the back of the housing but before I attempt to open it I'm wondering if any one else has tried to open the housing. Sometimes you get a handful of plastic you didn't want or expect.

When the mirrors are apart you can unscrew the bulb unit as a separate item. However, I do not know if BRP sells just that part?
The unit has all the bulbs in it and is sealed so you cannot just changes one bulb unless you pry it apart and break out the soldering iron. But taking the bulb unit apart will break the water tight seal (but you could RTV is to seal it up again).

As far as behind the mirror LEDs. Yes you can do it and some have including me. It is quite a job!!!!
In my opinion the outcome was not worth the effort as they are not very bright during the day.

Here is a video series I did showing how with all the hazards of doing it ;)

It is not likely that a bulb will burn out since it is led. But if is does the light unit is replaceable, according to the parts catalog. It is a little pricey.

Thanks billybovine, I didn't have time to get my manual for my response.

Good man for adding!

FYI, I did have the center LED go out on me. It was a bad manufacture job the LED did not burn out.
I was able to pry the bulb unit apart and fix it but that was a royal pain in the you know what.

THXS FOR ALL THE INFO.

I was really wondering more about separating the mirror case or housing. I can see there are tabs but I'm not sure I can see all of them and don't want to break the plastic. I have added the stick on lighted arrow on one side and it works fine. Just wanted the info on the separating the case for the second one and for future reference.

Again thxs for the info.

There are a lot of posts about how to pry the mirrors apart. In fact I am pretty sure I posted the BRP instructions here somewhere... sorry just cant remember where.

If you really want, I can dig them up and post them again?
They come with the chrome mirror top install instructions.
