There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Anyone tried Handle Bar End Weights? Any good??

I noticed TRex is offering stainless steel handle bar end weights that supposedly reduce & dampen vibration in handlebars. Not sure I understand the mechanics of that. Anyone have experience using these or similar? Worth it?

I made some from lead for my GS & RSS ( the Vtwins ) ... it definitely lessons the vibes .... I got the lead from a friendly garage that let me dozens of USED wheel weights ( they normally won't be re-used ) ... Melted them down in a cast iron skillet on the BBQ grill, then poured it into a dimilar size metal tube ..... My 2014 1330 RT doesn't need them I have foam covers for the grips .... Mike

More front end oscillation than bar vibration, ain't it? I've been toying with the idea of adding a damper to the steering to see if there's an improvement there. Worked wonders on my Ural sidecar rig. Seems like the center tie rod that runs along the top of the motor would be a perfect place for one on a Ryker. The Ural's got a VW jetta damping shock mounted up now, but it'd take a bit of math to get one that would apply the correct amount of damping on the Ryker..

PS - I've seen where folk load the bars with lead shot. A bit of silicone at the ends to lock the pellets in place and yer done.

I added handlebar weights on both my 2008 and 2009 GS & RS. They seemed to be needed, and they did help when I added them. That being said, I have not put them on any of the other five Spyders.

Seems the consensus is that end weights do work. I also like Pirate's suggestion to try foam grips.

Lot's of good advice. Appreciate the input!

Changing the mass of the bars (with weights) changes the resonant frequency to something more pleasant. It's been a thing on motorcycles for a long time. Many motorcycles have them as original equipment.

Handlebar weights reduce vibrations. There are many ways to reduce vibrations but handlebar weights is one of the cheapest and it is focused to remove the tuning fork effect and keep your hands from going to sleep.

Sounds like a" band-aid " to fix un-balanced wheels / tires ..... JMHO .... Mike

The T-Rex and Slingmods handlebar end weights are made by Show Chrome. I’d love to see someone make something proprietary for our Rykers and not a universal part.

I did Slingmods bar end weights and foam grips for my wife’s 2018 Spyder RT Limited SE6. She says she loves the changes; I can definitely notice a difference in handlebar “buzz”.

Loosen the drive belt to 160 rear wheel on the floor, 140 off the floor. Measuring with a Krikit II. That got rid of my vibes and I put Lidloks on my handlebar ends.

Vibration in handlebars

I also added the handlebars chrome end weights and foam grips to my Spyder. It definitely helped with the small amount of vibration I was getting in the grips. No more sleeping hands .
