There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Apple CarPlay update - what is the secret to getting it working properly??

I've had nothing but problems with my ACP since purchasing my 24 S2S last March. I'm attaching my latest (of many) emails to BRP. Maybe someone has had better luck and knows the secrets of getting it to work properly. Yes I've tried every way possible to hook up my iphone.

Hello Ivette,

Our saga continues.

Last week I started her up, ACP popped right up-yay! I rode 5 miles to the gas station, turned it off and fueled up. Restarted and no connection, no ACP, no connection to Bluetooth. I rode off and was able to stop the Spyder a couple of miles later. I rebooted my bike and phone and had no luck. I rode 30+ miles to my next destination with no CarPlay or music. Typical! Leaving to go home everything worked as it should have (?)

I received and installed your latest update Friday and CarPlay fired right up in the garage. Yay! Maybe you have solved the issues. Well my happiness was short-lived.. I went ryding today (76 degrees F) and again it worked until I stopped for gas. No connection to ACP and now the "preference" box did not light up on the dash also. It still keeps showing cannot connect to USB cable and again no Bluetooth either. I stopped again and was able to get Bluetooth connected but still no ACP.

WTF

How long must I fight this defective POS? Again I just want it FIXED!!!!!!!!

I'm allowing some time for an honest response to my email and if not satisfactory I will start calling the above phone number daily or hourly if necessary.

The next step will leave me no alternative to turn over my complaints to my attorney.

Thank you again

I purchased my S2S at the beginning of April 2024, and have also had some issues with Apple Carplay on my Spyder.

Equipment:
2024 Spyder Sea to Sky
Apple iPhone SE 2nd Gen with genuine Apple USB/Lightning cable
SENA 3S Plus bluetooth headset installed in an HJC C91 helmet

What I have learned is that I need to power off the headset in the helmet, and disconnect the USB cable from the Spyder every time I shut down the Spyder.

So my startup sequence is:
Turn the Spyder key on and roll the throttle to remove the message. After the display is live then proceed with:
Power on the headset
Plug the cable into the iPhone and then into the USB connector in the "glove box" in front of the handle bars.

I also use the same iPhone with Apple Carplay in my 2023 Honda Ridgeline.
It also wants me to disconnect the USB cable from the USB port on the dash and then plug it in again once I start the engine.

I have a Celtic Spyder decal on my frunk. ;)

It sounds like CarPlay is just as bad as the previous version of the cluster without CarPlay.

It should work, no question about it, but from what I have read here there is little chance that it will work in the way that it does in my car.

I wouldn't stop testing it if that's important to you, but what does work is mounting your phone on your handlebars and bluetoothing directly to your helmet.

BRP is clearly woefully incompetent and clearly unconcerned about having even usable phone features of any kind, and has been for years.

Hi, sorry to read your issues, I also have a 2024 STS without any issues at all running Apple CarPlay

Here’s a few hints and requirements I share :
1-Make sure to use an original Apple wire or a MFI (made for iPhone) certified one so that the data transfert is fully supported at cheap power cable tends to not support well (if at all) data transportation.
2-Your Bluetooth communication device needs to be of a relatively new generation meaning Bluetooth V5.0 or above (as per BRP driver manual)
3-Make sure your communicator is connected to the Spyder rather than the iPhone
4-The power-up sequence seems to have an impact on working smoothly or not. Mine is to plug-in the iPhone, power-on my Sena/BRP Vibe communicator and then start the Spyder

Racoon, I've tried evey conceivable way at start up but I haven't tried unplugging before shut off. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

I have no experience with earlier versions of the cluster, as my 2024 Spyder RT Sea2Sky is my first CAN-AM product.

And other than the quirks of the steps I use at startup, as I noted in my previous post, Apple Carplay works fine on my Spyder.

And if the roads here weren't covered in snow and ice, I'd be out riding my Spyder, using Apple Carplay navigation

Yep, yep and yep to all the above

Love the graphic!

All my problems went away when I got a headset that supported BT 5.2. My older BT 4.x headset was just a nightmare. ACP has been perfect for me ever since I got the new headset.

So BT 5.2 headset fixes many issues.....for those with issues with ACP please post up what version ACP is on the Spyder, what headset model and what version of BT is on the headset. Perhaps the ones with zero issues can confirm if that is what they have working.....
BTW I just got an email from BRP re a new update for the screen and ACP.....version 3.1.0
Has anyone gotten this yet? any issues?

I just went out and checked my 2024 Spyder RT S2S and it shows it's currently using BRP Connect V3.1.0.
I did not have it check for updates, as doing so requires me shuffling around the vehicles in my garage so the Spyder is close enough to my wifi access point inside the house to connect. So I had previously downloaded and installed the V3.1.0 update.

The headset I have in my helmet is a Sena 3S Plus Boom Microphone Kit, which uses Bluetooth version 5.1
I have an iPhone SE 2nd Gen that is running iOS 18.2, which is the latest version for my iPhone.

There's several inches of snow on the ground at the moment, so it's been awhile since I last rode my Spyder, but Apple Carplay works fine, and I can hear the navigation instructions in the headset in my helmet.

When I just did the update, it said the update was version 3.1.0, but also said that's what was installed? Anyway it went through the normal update procedure, taking 10-15 minutes I'd guess. Haven't taken it out since though. Notes say it adds support for rear-view camera among other things.

Well rear view would be nice. Does ACP support a rear view camera? Anyone install one? But I use Samsung Android Galaxy Note S20 5g. :( I was thinking about a Carpuride unit that used front and rear cameras which would eliminate all that kerfuffle.

My thoughts about rear view camera support: I pretty sure it's just for the 2025 models.
Looking at the 2025 accessories list, I see a backup camera kit:

But using the "does this fit on my vehicle option" it says the kit does NOT fit my 2024 Spyder RT Sea2Sky, but does fit 2025 Spyder RTs and F3s, but not 2025 Rykers.

The 2025 Canyon Redrock comes with a back-up camera.
The 2025 Spyder RT lists a back-up camera as an option.

I hear that but I have to wonder why there is a unterminated three pin connector over the top of my left rear tailight connector that was not there on 2023 and earlier models???

I have no idea.
And I was unable to find the installation instructions for the 2025 backup camera kit, so I have no idea if it plugs into a three pin connector.
I guess we'll have to wait until the 2025 backup camera kit is released, and the installation instructions are available.

Pic of the three pin connector would be nice! Rear view/front view cams typically are three wire and use a power wire plus the video wire(s). If RCA video that might be a 2 wire type. However, they don't necessarily use an RCA plug end. Sometimes there are up to 4 wires in the wire bundle for typical rear/front view cams. Some of the extra wires are bundled and can be cut to provide different views (reverse view vs front view ) or remove parking guidelines from the view.

Doubt ACP comes into play at all. Probably just uses right 2/3 of the screen where ACP normally would be to show the backup camera when you shift into reverse. Once out of Reverse, it should return to whatever you had on the screen previously.
