• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

April Fool's Day

Bob - happy to hear you finally got to ride:yes::yes: And on my national holiday .

My wife told me years ago that April 1 was my national holiday and I asked her why and she told me because it is fools day:yikes:

My first day of retirement, upper 60s here and i did

WHAT EVER I WANTED TO DO TODAY.

Sorry, i got carried away.

I heard of a guy who went down to the train station as usual, then stood there in his suit and with his briefcase and watched as the train left the station. The station attendant if there was something wrong that he didn't get on the train. "Nothing wrong at all. I've been waiting 40 years to watch that train leave without me!"

For April Fools' Day we ryded 183 myles with the group to have lunch al-fresco at a seaside bar on South Padre Island, in cloudy, windy temperatures of 70-80 degrees. Nice ryde! :ohyea:

During that ryde I rolled up 14,000 myles (in exactly 14 months) so this morning she goes in the shop for the standard 14K service, oil change, and to get her new Kumho rear paw mounted.

I bet the bill for all that won't be any April Fool joke! :sour:

Well, it wasn't so bad, only $291, but they didn't really do all the stuff in the owner's manual. Just the oil change, and checked the bearings and seals when they pulled the rear wheel. So they charged 1 hour each for the oil change and the wheel-pull + tire-mount. At $95/hr, which may be lower than average rates? The "parts" for an oil-change are now $83.87, when they used to sell the kit for $65.

I finally noticed the pattern of that line-item that says "Shop Supplies"... it's always exactly 5% of the labor charge! So when you see that Labor Rate posted on the wall, just add 5% to get the real deal... they probably all use the same canned software in most service shops.

No fooling!
