There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. beer drinkers may find this offensive...

Interesting subject. No beer cocktails for me. I am not a beer drinker. A 12 pack will last me a month and a half or more.

Beer is not one of the things you Americans do well? :roflblack:Try Alexander Keith's the "pride of Nova Scotia" now that is a beer!:firstplace:

Ummm-- excuse me???

Some of the best beers in the world come from the USA.... many from my own State of Michigan:

http://www.ratebeer.com/RateBeerBest/bestbeers_012012.asp

Out of the top 50 beers in the WORLD.... Michigan took the following spots:

#4 Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout - Grand Rapids, MI
#6 Bells Hopslam - Kalamazoo, MI
#12 Bells Expedition Stout - Kalamazoo, MI
#31 Kuhnhenn Bourbon Barrel Fourth Dementia Old Ale - Warren, MI
#38 Dark Horse Bourbon Barrel Plead the 5th Imperial Stout - Marshall, MI

These are the breweries I frequent, with Dark Horse being my favorite. Michigan is 5th in the USA as far as number of Breweries....pretty impressive.

Canada does have some decent beers-- from Unibroue in Chambly, Quebec.......

Fly,
I will admit that once you guys sneak over the border and raid some of Wisconsin's cheese fields you can make a pretty good meal of of Youper beer 'n cheese!

Hmm............not to much to add other than if I occasionally get "shall we say backed up" nothing works better for me than a 1/2 dozen Bud to purge the pipes?:dontknow:

Michigan.............makes sense really it is kind of like our Casino's once the State of Michigan realized the Michigonians were flocking across the border to scoop up our exceptional beers and gamble at the local casino, they decided to get their act together!;)

You are correct though we tend to call those "micro breweries" over here and they for sure are capable of making some awesome beer!

The only time I drink beer is basically on very specific occasions:

When I am already hammered (havent done this since I was 22)
When I am a Motorcycle club and they hand me a beer and they are all carrying guns and Im a visitor (Happened at Spyderfest)
When I have shots involving beer

Other than that, I am almost 100% liquor drinker. I am a rarity in that I try to literally try EVERY liquor I have ever seen, trying to find the best compliments from each to other flavors to wow your customer / drinker.

It's why I am not a huge fan of chain restaurant bars or little bars where they carry bartons and mccormicks only.

I guess you forgot the Golden Rule of Motorcycle Clubs, guns and drinking: "Never go to a meeting without a gun, a beer in hand and being a stranger all at once!":roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

:agree:
:roflblack: ...and be prepared to discuss body ink at length...

I have ink and am getting more, I have a concealed carry, and I am a stranger, so Im almost 100%

We've had many of the micro-brews (Bells, Arcadia, Dark Horse, etc..) around for 15 to 25 years now. Our 'casino explosion' is a fairly new thing. I'll give you that the Detroit casinos opened as direct competition to yours.... but not really the case with the various new Indian casinos popping up.

The big beer makers are really starting to feel the heat from all the micro-breweries. One of them recently offered Bells $100 million to buy him out.... the owner kindly said NO THANKS. I don't drink the typical crap made by Bud, Miller, etc. It's like dirty water....

If anyone ever comes to Michigan--- gimme a shout and I'll take you on a brewery run.. you won't be disappointed!

Beer cocktails are rarely sold in bars. As a matter of fact, on the rare occasion I have had to see them, it was more of the shot variety that involve beers than the actual cocktails.

PBR, Carta Blanca, Modelo, Pacifico, Corona, or Dos Equis - of these your "average" bar might have Corona. Otherwise, not so much. PBR has become some younger generation revolt to being cool and thus has bolstered its sales and made it more popular again.

The beer cocktail in question you are talking about is more common than you might think, in beer distributors attempts to get it in front of the public.

http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/29/37389 I believe it is an attempt to tap into the latin market with something that might be pre-bought in a can, I wouldnt suggest it.

To have most beer cocktails it requires a few caveats, if you attempt them, premade mixes / slurries are going to make them basically taste like total @$$, couple that with anything that requires fruit / vegatables to be make it really snap, non-FRESH fruit will make or break this drink. Much like a Bloody Mary, were I going to make this, I would actually make my OWN mix from the freshest items on hand to make the drink remotely drinkable. Also, being in the culture in question when you choose to go down this path, is always a good call.

I have learned several of these items in my NUMEROUS hours, and times on both sides of bars. I consider bartending to be an art, and the key is to truly attempt to wow your drinkers with something that assualts their tastes with what they like.

Good luck with your Bloody Mary Beer!
Back in England we used to get what they called "Barley Wine"....then there was Scrumpy...from the bottom of the cider barrel....bloody rocket fuel.

I don't know.... I have issues with all these mixy drinks.....
It's really hard ta mess up a good Bourbon on the rocks....... or neat if it's REALLY good!!!!!
