• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Purchased a Shoei Neotec helmet and having some problems getting my Scala Rider G4 microphone twisted just right to fit inside the chin bar without it touching my chin or mouth. This helmet has a chin curtain that also presents a challenge in positioning the mic. Any Bluetooth devices out there that you comm geeks (affectionate term) would recommend for use with a modular helmet that perhaps has a microphone setup more conducive to that style helmet?

I feel your pain. I purchased a Multitec last year, and the boom for the G2 wouldn't fit well. I sold the G2 and bought the G4S (snow). The difference is that instead of the boom, there is a wire going to the mic. I have extended the wire to be able to route accordingly, and it now sits attached to the inside front of the helmet. PM me and I'll give you more details, if you wish.

PM sent....thanks.

I think you can buy mount that has a wired mic instead of a boom on eBay.

Thanks. Bought a Scala G9 audio kit that works with the G4 as well and it is simply the mount that comes with a wired mic. I'm going to use the new mount on my Neotec helmet and my current mount with the boom mic on my 3/4 helmet for hot weather ryding.

Remove the chin curtain. My Scorpion EXO-900 had the same issues. Removed the curtain and all is good, it was too constricting anyway.

There seem to be a few options out there:

  • Interphone F5 has a wired mike that is linked to one of the speakers instead of the external control unit.
  • The snowmobile version of the Sena SMH10 has a boom that you install inside the helmet.
  • The upcoming Sena SMH10R also has a boom that you install inside the helmet.
  • The uClear Hbc200 has no mike boom, but rather large speakers with built-in mikes.

All had good reviews (the Smh10r is a re-packaged version of the Smh10) on the web. I have none for now, waiting for a confirmation from Sena on the SMH10R speaker size before I decide and place my order.

...Ben...
