• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. "Roll Me Away" by Bob Seger, but I'm from Michigan and have a Bob Seger bias. Had to change the lyrics to "my big three wheeler". :doorag:

For us Texas riders, it's got to be "I've Been Everywhere (in Texas That Is)" I'm not smart enough to embed a Youtube video, but here's a link.

How about that? I didn't realize it was that easy to embed a video. And that is a good video. I'm still trying to figure out just how many of those places I've been to.

Chris, part of that looks like some shots from the Painted Desert in Arizona, but it ends in Monument Valley ( I was there at the beginning of October, but was Sypderless )

Living here in New Mexico ( where some of the other scenes were filmed ) we call that the Four Corners area - where New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado all meet.

Here is a link that outlines where some of the movie's scences were shot.

Google " Monument Valley " for images and look at Google Maps for where it is. It was probably filmed - in part - on Highway US-163 Scenic, but the final pans of the camera were deeper into Monument Valley, off the highway.

I've attached a picture from when I flew in, this October. It is about 300 miles from where I live. And, there are some other great things to see on the way and on the way back.

Oh, and I agree with BRPjunkie, "Roll Me Away" by Bob Seger, is the motorcycle song for me - but I'm from Michigan, too.

What a fantastic thread, with all the doom and gloom around this this thread just makes you smile and feel good
I agree with Tom, some early shots look like the Painted Desert or even the road down to Moab but the later stuff is definitely Monument Valley, I’ve ridden it a bunch of times and its awesome – we were there early in the morning one time and it was just like Easy Rider – nothing else on the road, the road stretching out for miles ahead and just me and a buddy taking a lane each…….boy it just feels good to think of it…..thanks Chris
And the best song, Steppenwolf, Born to be Wild…no contest

Been watching this thread throuout the day, wondering. Back in the late seventies and eighties I used to do audio for touring bands that played in poughkeepsie, ny at the civic center. Most all country acts, comedians and even the WWF when Hulk Hogen was in his hayday, so I have so say this sure does bring back memories. I still break out the gear a couple of times a year, but it sure took a toll on my hearing. Today the only thing I would do different, use hearing protection. Anyway, (thanks for the memories) who sang that line.

thanks for your help ! some i didn`t know - hope to get a BRP iPod for christmess .. to load up each one -

Best motorcycle song

Well, it's not the *best* but it sticks in my brain once in a while....

"I don't want a pickle....."
:D

Memories are good!

Anyway, (thanks for the memories) who sang that line.

According to Wikipedia:

"Thanks for the Memory" (1938) is a popular song, with music composed by Ralph Rainger and lyrics by Leo Robin. It was introduced in the 1938 film The Big Broadcast of 1938 by Shep Fields and His Orchestra with vocals by Bob Hope and Shirley Ross.
In the film, Hope and Ross's characters are a couple who were married briefly and then divorced, and after other failed marriages, meet and sing poignantly about the good times of their failed relationship.
The song won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, and became Hope's signature tune, with many different lyrics adapted to any situation.
