• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. BRP Heat fix

I've read several post here regarding heat problems and how the 13's may have less of an issue for the rider but more long term problems for the bikes due to heat build up. What's melting due to the heat build up. I've heard the master cylinder, is that the brake mater cylinder? I've also seen several comments saying something to the effect; BRP is working a on "fix" for the heat problem. Is that for real? Does someone know for a fact that a fix is on the way? Where can I read about BRP's response and their feedback to this issue. Thanks for your replies.

If you'll just browse through the 'Spyder General Discussion' section, where this thread is posted, you'll find the answers to all of your questions about the heat fix.

As you read the post about the Canadian recall...which will roll over to USA....the only thing being repaired is the heat shield to protect the master cylinder....there is still excessive heat under the Tupperware creating havoc on all systems and parts

Please tell me, what systems and parts are suffering from the excessive heat?

Fortunately for me I live in Michigan and heat really hasn't been an issue. My ST runs at most 5 bars on the heat scale and mostly 4 when I'm at speed. The redesign on the 2013 ST right side to exhaust the heat seems to do its job but like I said, I'm not really challenging it as much as I could living in the northern state. However, I would like to feel like I could go anywhere and not worry about melting my ride.:dontknow:

On my 2011 RS-S I ripped out the heat/sound barrier and replaced them with a thin (3/32 of an inch) heat and sound barrier which increased the air flow and keeps the panels a lot cooler and the gas tank cooler. I put the new heat and sound barrier on the bottom of the gas tank to keep to gas cooler. The old heat/sound is flammable, I started it burning with a BIC lighter with in 8 seconds. I'm a lot cooler riding in 98 degree weather. I hope BRP fixes this in that recall.
