• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Bushtec trailer question

Took my new trailer out today for a test run before I leave for the Smokies Saturday. I probably have about 50 lbs load with 12 lbs in the sharks. The trailers wheels look like this / \ Are the wheels suppose to be that way??? I thought they might look like that fully loaded. How much air do you Bushtec owners have in your trailer?:chat:

I'd check with Bushtec as to how much pressure they recommend in the shocks, but several of my friends have Bushtec trailers and the tires ae some what / \ when loaded. You should still have several inches of clearance between the top of the tire and the body. You shold be able to bounce it without them touching. You would not want them like this \ / loaded. I hope that helps.

We have a Bushtec and love it. After it is loaded we put the air in until the wheels are | | We have to stop adding air periodically to roll the trailer back and forth a few time and let it adjust. it we get this \ / we have to let some air out it we get / \ we add air until have have achieved | |. There is one model where I believe you do want a slight / \ but I don't remember which one. Check your owners manual, if you don't have one, I think you can download a pdf file of the manual. Check the proper wheel alignment for you model trailer. Hope that helps.

dltang is right in her post. After looking at my manual, the wheels, after loading, are to be vertical, with maybe 2 to 3 degree / \ .
I'm not talking from expierence though, cause I'm still waiting on my Bushtec hitch, that I ordered 7 1/2 weeks ago. :gaah:

I have trailed my Bushtec for a few thousand miles and the above instructions are as good as it gets and are easy to follow. There really is no real pressure guide due to how much weight you put in it and I can tell you we have filled it up big time. Just load up the Bushtec then on a level surface push it back and forth as suggested a few times and then take a step back and look at the angle of the wheels. You can always add or subtract air after all. This will change depending on the weight , so I always, on a long run carry a high presure bycle pump with me, they are about $30 to $40 for a really good one and adjust the wheel angle to suit, it that simple. You may have been told you do not even notice the Bushtec behind you and for once thats a correct statement, so be carefull when pulling into a tight gas station to avoid clipping the post, No dont ask it was a minor blemish only. They did there home work with there system.

Have a great time with you new unit.
