This is just another example of George Washington's Expense Account.
To whit: There are many big problems that are completely out of the control of legislators, so they legislate the little things.
They can't get a grip on illegal immigration.
They can't get a grip on crime.
They can't get a grip on their budget.
But damn, they can sure make an impact on straws.

Let's see.... illegal immigration has continued to go DOWN over the past 30 years.
Crime (school crime in particular) has continued to go DOWN over the past 50 years.
Budget? California is doing just fine, 5th largest economy in the world. They pay more into the fed than they take. We'd be in trouble without them.

Facts matter.

I've come across straws on the beach. Plastic bags. Balloons, etc. … all because of us damn dirty apes and our laziness. If we'd actually respect our planet and properly dispose of things then we wouldn't need these laws... but we're lazy, dirty apes who are ruining this planet.

But it's nice to see some things never change out here.... especially those posting BS without checking facts....:roflblack:

OK so what does that have to do with anything previously said? the very rich and the very poor are staying in ca. while the middle class and businesses are leaving.

There is no way the average american uses 38000 straws in a lifetime. That would mean I would have to live until 104(38000 days = 104 years) and use 1 straw everyday from the day I was born. I am lucky if I use 5 a month. Somebody or some website's figures are WAY off. The tree-huggers make up whatever numbers they want to make a point. Go ahead, keep believing everything you read on the internet or watch on youtube. The world would be a better place if they never invented the plastic bottle. I see them everywhere, but I have never seen a straw in the wild. :roflblack:

Those Kalifornia lawmakers must stand in a circle and smoke together to come with that stuff.

Name calling of other members on this site is a good way to get yourself booted ( it recently happened ) or the thread removed ( which can be done by the original poster). Many of us have put a person on the ignore list and best to leave it at that---- in stead of name calling.
