• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can am Spyder helmets?

I assume you're referring to the Can-Am ST-1 Hybrid Helmet? My wife and I each have them, with the built-in comm system. We purchased them when we got our RT, along with the communications harness and CB. As the RT was our first motorcycle, we've had no prior experience with other helmets by which to judge them. However, we like them just fine. Originally we liked the 3/4 effect, and I bought the snap-in jaws mainly for cold weather riding. However, I'm leaning toward leaving the jaws in for safety (we'll see if I feel the same way once the summer heat returns...). The jaws are very easy to snap in and out as desired. The helmets also have a slide-down sun screen, operated via a slide switch on the upper left side. The helmets are actually manufactured by Givi.

:agree: Ditto! I have both jaw pieces. I use the solid in colder weather and use the vented jaw for the warmer weather.

I use it in the 3/4 formation, in fact I don't think I've ever snapped in the full face sections. (I like a bit of air) My favorite feature is the flip down sunscreen. It helps not needing a pair of shades underneath and I can switch it on the fly.

It's too bad that they don't offer a helmet with a flip-up chinguard...
When you wear glasses, it sure makesit easier to get in and out of them!

The scorpion exo 900 was another one I was looking at, but the shape isn't quite right. The Xxl puts too much pressure on my forehead. Can't find a Xxxl to try on locally. The sharks looked okay, but the front face shield felt really cheap, and there is apparently some problem with the distributor right now so no one has the sizes on hand I need to try on anyway.

I have the Scorpion 900 and like the fit (large size). I wear it both ways, full shield/jaw in cold to warm weather but once it gets over 70 I take the jaw bone off. I love the fit and the look of the Canam Helmut but the price is too high so I live with what I have now. I carry the Scorpion 1/2 helmut for local rides or emegency. It is great in hot weather and it too has the sun shade that drops down when needed.

randy

The Nolan 103's etc. have a flip up chin guard. The whole front of the helmet opens. Entry and exit from the helmet are very easy. Thats my main reason for my Nolan preference.

I just bought a Scorpion exo-100 the other day from Whitehorse Gear. We went to their store/warehouse in Conway, NH. I tried on different types of Helmets. I'm gonna stay with the half helmet. The exo-100 has the sun-shield and it is set-up for communications. If your ever in the North Conway, N. H. area stop by and visit them, very nice people (even the dogs are friendly).
