• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can you remove the trunk on a PRE-2020 F3L?

I know the 2020 F3T/Ls have the LinQ system whereby you can easily remove the trunk (from the L) and/or add one (to the T). Is there any way to either remove the trunk on a Limited or add the trunk to a Touring model on a PRE 2020 F3? I only ask as I'm seriously considering trading in my 2018 RTL for an F3. I rarely feel the need for the trunk on my RT (and like the look w/o it) and don't really want to pay extra just to have a trunk on an F3 (unless the price is right) but it would be nice to have the option of trunk/no trunk, if possible. Of course, the 2019 models are much cheaper than the 2020 (or 2021) models so I'm looking at those. If I ended up w/a Limited model, I'd like the option of adding something to close up the rear if I removed the trunk.

HAGO!

Thanks. Looks like a real PITA but doable. Doable is what I was looking for. I wouldn't plan on removing/installing a trunk often but it's good to know it can be done if need be.

We put a topcase on my wifes 2018 F3T. The only real trick to a "quick" removal is the braided ground strap. The bolt they attach it to has a nut on the back and part of the rear needs to be undone in order to get a wrench in to hold it. I used on ofnthose threaded bolt clip things and a different hole in case she wanted to take the topcase off occasionally.

What's the braided ground strap for? FM antenna? If so, I don't care. There aren't any decent FM stations around here. As a matter of fact, I've removed the FM antenna on my current 2018 RTL. If it weren't for that pesky ground strap, how long do you figure it would take to remove the trunk? 2 minutes? 10 minutes? 4 hours plus a 6 pack?

I've had the top trunk off, on our 2018 F3 Limited, many times. I can remove the top trunk in about 10 minutes working patiently. It's one of the many ways of becoming familiar with the machine. I reinstall with the ground strap in place even though I don't use the radio.

Yes I have a 2020 F3L and thanks to the folks here, I was able to confirm and get the covering.
The part is the same for the pre-2020 as linked above.

What the black cover panel does not come with is: the BRP stick on logo (I got mine through Amazon), the metal clips that secure the panel in the three rear slots, and two push pins that secure the panel at it's front.

Diverd - did the rear fairing for the 2020 F3L come with all of the necessary clips to mount? I see that VitoNam's post states it does not. Can you kindly provide part number - and if you had to get other parts, what they were and where you found them?

i just got a 2020 F3 limited, i was in the process of removing the topbox, and there is a braided groundstrap connected , i thought you did not have to do this on the 2020's and above ??
