• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We will be vacationing in Canandaigua, NY in July. I'm a little on the fence about taking my Spyder with me. Are there folks here who could provide me with some riding routes? Perhaps you can help change my mind. Thanks in advance for any info you are willing to share.

It's wine country.

You can ride around Canandaigua Lake and then head over to ride around Seneca Lake and then on to Cayuga Lake. There was a laser show at Watkins Glen during the summer; not sure if that is still going on. Watkins Glen is at the southern tip of Cayuga Lake.

It would be an enjoyable ride. It's not really twisty road country, if that's what you are looking for.

Of course, Niagara Falls is not that far from Canandaigua. There is also Letchworth State Park; the supposed Grand Canyon of the East. I've been to both and there is nothing like the Grand Canyon, except the Grand Canyon.

I have a summer home in that area, so we ride there often. There are no bad roads in the Finger Lakes Region. Lots of wine destinations--and be sure to check out Helmet World on Route 21 between Canandaigua and Naples. That places has more helmets and gear than any place around. Be sure to check out this site for more info:

Have fun!

Thanks everybody! Hottrodd7, I had been to that site but always looked up Virginia. Very pleased with the number of rides detailed for the Finger Lakes region!

Watkins Glen is actually at the south end of Seneca Lake.....Ithaca is at the south end of Cayuga Lake.

Yes I live about 2 hrs from there.. Do the wine tour then a must is Watkins Glen and the Gorge, We took the Spyder there on Sunday it was great,, Then ride another hour from there and come see the PA grand canyon.. I live just a couple miles from there.. You will love this trip on the Spyder its great views..

the Finger Lake area is beautiful...you need to take the Spyder.....we were there once in October and the whole place smelled like you just opened a bottle of Welch's grape juice....wonderful winerys and great places to eat...one thing that stands out in my mind....there were wagons parked out in front of farms selling veggies.....unmaned...just a lock box with a list of prices....we frequently talk about it...we have excess veggies all the time and joke ..if we put out a wagon here (near Houston) the wagon and all would be gone within the hour...enjoy your time at Finger Lake area

Thanks everyone. I think I would kick myself if I didn't take the Spyder based on what everyone has said. Really looking forward to the trip now!
